his work … this will help those studying English next year.
• To increase pupils’ understanding of drama as a performing art. This will help those studying both Drama and English next year.
• For individuals, to increase their knowledge of other aspects of culture and science based on personal priorities (for example through museum and gallery visits).
• To develop the skills of working together as a group in a new environment, where teamwork and responsibility will be key.
• To develop in practice an understandingof issues concerning personal safety.

• 08:50 – Arrive Gatwick – then transfer to hotel by coach
• 11:45 – Arrive at Premier Inn Wembley Stadium• 12:30 – Travel by tube to central London • Afternoon – sightseeing (Westminster, Houses of
Parliament, Whitehall, Buckingham Palace etc)• Evening meal in central London • 19:00 – Arrive at Globe Theatre for performance of
Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, starting at 19:30 and ending at 21:30 approximately.
• Return to hotel by tube.• In rooms 11:00• Lights out 11:30
Day 2Day 2• 07:30 – Breakfast• 09:00 – Travel to South Bank for return visit
to Globe Theatre• 10:30 – Globe Theatre workshop based on The Taming of the Shrew,
as well as Globe tour and exhibition• Remain in central London for lunch and optional visits (e.g. Tate
Modern, British Museum, Natural History Museum, National Gallery, Science Museum, Dickens Museum, Sherlock Holmes Museum, Madame Tussaud’s, Tower of London, Royal Observatory etc – max 4 choices to run)
• Return to Hotel for 17:00 for evening meal• 19:00 – arrive at Apollo Victoria Theatre for performance of Wicked,
starting at 19:30, running until 22:00 approximately• Return to hotel by Tube.• In Rooms 11:00• Lights out 11:30
Day 3Day 3• 07:30 – Breakfast• 08:30 – Leave hotel to return to
central London (South Bank) for London Eye visit.• 10:30 – London Eye flight• After this, head to Covent Garden for lunch and “free
time” – exploring the market and buying souvenirs etc.• 14:15 – Backstage Tour at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane• After this, activities/sightseeing to be arranged• 20:00 – London Ghost Walking Tour (starting point St
Paul’s Cathedral)• 21:30 approx – return to hotel by Tube• In rooms 11:00• Lights out – 11:30
Day 4Day 4• 07:30 – Breakfast• 08:00-09:00 – packing and tidying rooms. Luggage
to be stored at hotel during the day.• 09:30 – return to central London.• Morning & early afternoon – optional visits (as
mentioned in earlier list, with different options to run)
• Return to hotel to be collected by bus at 15:15 for transfer to Gatwick Airport.
