TEAMS AND PLAYERS

A team must consist of a minimum of five ( 5 ) registered players.

A match is played by two teams, each consisting of no more than five ( 5 ) players on the court, one of whom is the goalkeeper.

At the start of a match, a team must have a minimum of three ( 3 ) players registered on the team nomination form on the court of which one must be the goalkeeper.

Teams are allowed to borrow maximum one ( 1 ) registered player under the following circumstances: If a team can only field three ( 3 ) players on the court, then one ( 1 ) registered player maximum can be borrowed making a total of four (4) players on the court. Teams cannot borrow other registered players if there are already four ( 4 ) or more registered players on the court.

Teams are allowed to borrow players from the same division or lower.

No borrowing players for finals games.

If, in the event of players being sent off, if fewer than three ( 3 ) players (including the goalkeeper) are left in either of the teams, the match must be abandoned and a win awarded to the opposition team.

If a team has to withdraw from the competition for any reason including expulsion due to misconduct the competition fee in full is surrendered.

Competition fees not paid by due date may result in matches being a forfeit. (Competition staff must be consulted if teams have issues paying the fee’s in full before due date).

PLAYER REQUIREMENTS Any player participating unregistered is playing at their own risk and the game will be registered as a forfeit loss . All players must be registered and financial before playing through Futsal NSW for insurance purposes.

In the case of a player starting late in the season, he/she must register before entering the playing court.

No player is allowed to play for two ( 2 ) teams in the same division.

A player must play at least 50% of games to be eligible to play in any finals games.

Any player deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or any other substance that may impair their judgement, will be directed to leave the court immediately and take no further part in the game.

Swearing on court will not be tolerated (be it at another player, referee or at oneself).

Any coach, player or spectator behaving antisocially will be asked to leave (refer to code of behaviour). This could have a penalising affect on their team or team they are associated with.

All players will abide fully with this document (MENAI INDOOR SPORTS CENTRE FUTSAL HANDBOOK) and all codes of behaviour in full.

These rules and regulations are applied by competition management and staff. Referees facilitate game play and report incidents.

All disputes must be conveyed to competition staff via team manager or team captain.

Competition management decisions are final!

PLAYER EQUIPMENT

Safety A player must not use equipment or wear anything which is dangerous to themselves or another player, including any kind of jewellery. The referee’s decision on players in violation of safety concerns is final.

Basic Equipment The basic compulsory equipment of a player is:

All players are to be in identical tops with numbers. (no singlets) All tops must be individually numbered and must not have the same numbers. Numbers are to be ironed, sewn, printed or glued on. Pins, pen, texta or tape numbers will not be

accepted. The numbers must be placed in the same place on all shirts (keeper excluded) All numbers are to be of the same size and can not be smaller then 5 cm. Each player must have his/her own top. (no singlets) Long or short sleeves will be accepted only if the top is of identical colour and design.

By the third ( 3rd ) round of the competition, all players are to be in correct uniform. Tops with individual names on the back will be permitted, providing they are a part of a team set.

Foot wear Any type of non marking runners, sneakers, or indoor soccer shoes may be worn. Sandals, thongs, shoes, socks or bare feet will not be permitted. No headwear is to be worn on court by any player.

Eye wear Contact lenses are preferred or approved sport glasses are permitted.

Shin guards Shin guards must be worn by all players for the duration of the game. Any player not wearing shin guards will not be permitted to play.

Shin guards must be covered entirely by the socks. Must be made of a suitable material (rubber, plastic or similar substances) Provide a reasonable degree of protection.

Infringements The player at fault is instructed by the referee to leave the pitch to correct his/her equipment or to obtain any missing items of equipment. The player may not return to the pitch without first reporting to the referee, who then checks that the player’s equipment is now correct. The player is only allowed to re-enter the match when the ball is out of play.

The duration of the match

The Match lasts two equal periods of seventeen ( 17 ) minutes (adults) and thirteen ( 13 ) minutes (juniors). Subject to change.

The duration of either half may be prolonged to enable a penalty kick to be taken.

The half time interval must not exceed five ( 5 ) minutes. (Penalty kick time to be taken from interval).

In the case of a finals game ending in a draw, there will be an extra ten ( 10 ) minutes (five minutes each way) added to the game. In the event scores are still tied at the end of extra time, a penalty shoot out will take place until a winner is determined.

Unlimited substitutions.

Starting time

Each game will begin on designated time as per draw. Teams must be ready (team sheet filled in) and minimum three ( 3 ) players must take the court at the commencement of the game.

Players being late for the game , must be ready to take the court no later than the beginning of the second half.

Forfeits

You as a team have committed to playing the whole season and therefore are not expected to forfeit any games. A team being more than five minutes late will be given a forfeit loss. Forfeiting without 24 hours notice will result in the lose of a point

Forfeit win (3 points) will be given to the team present.

Registration fee must be paid by each player in each team. Any players introduced to a team late in the season must pay their registration fee before they enter the court. Registration Fees can not be transferred from player to player. Registrations are made on line at “Myfootballclub”

Competition team fees must be paid in full before the due date. Non compliance may result in forfeits until the outstanding fees are finalised. Competition staff must be consulted if teams have issues paying the fees in full before due date.

Penalties

One ( 1 ) Red card = two ( 2 ) weeks suspension. ( Pending referee report , more weeks may apply ). Two ( 2 ) Yellow cards in a game = one ( 1 ) week suspension Five ( 5 ) Yellow cards in a season = one ( 1 ) week suspension

Competition points

Win = Three ( 3 ) points Draw = Two ( 2 ) points Loss = One ( 1 ) point Forfeit = Nil ( 0 ) point

Standings are placed by points, goal differential then goals for.

MENAI INDOOR SPORTS CENTRE HOT WEATHER POLICY

Menai Indoor Sports Centre (MISC) has adopted the following guidelines regarding the playing of indoor sports in hot weather conditions, which relates to players and officials. Irrespective of the predicted maximum temperature, centre staff, coaches, team manager and referees should adopt the following as appropriate, in case of hot weather conditions:

Stadium staff should:

MISC staff will maximise airflow in the stadium by utilising court air extraction fans Make an assessment of playing conditions and advise referees and coaches Cancel or postpone games if playing conditions are considered unsafe

Coaches should:

Ascertain whether any players have known medical conditions which may be affected by heat Ensure that players take adequate fluid during the game Make substitutions as appropriate Utilise available time-outs

Referees should:

Call additional time-outs Extend the half time break

Team managers should:

Ensure that players take adequate fluid before, during and after the game Be alert and react to any signs of distress/potential distress in players Ascertain wether players have medical conditions which may be affected by weather conditions

As well as the temperature forecast it is recommended that humidity be considered, as high humidity can create stressful conditions. No one should ever feel as though they must play if they believe it is unsafe or they are feeling distressed.

MENAI INDOOR SPORTS CENTRE COMPETITION RISK WARNING

Recreational activities involve a risk of physical harm or personal injury including permanent disability and or death to participants. Any such injury may result from your actions but also from the action, omission or negligence of others.

Competition terms and conditions

1. You acknowledge that you will observe the following:

Rules of the sport you are participating in. Conditions of entry (displayed in foyer). Centre competition rules and regulations. You will conduct yourself in a safe and controlled manner at all times.

2. You must read all signs and follow all directions given by our employees and agents.

3. You engage in a recreational activity at your own risk and acknowledge that we're not liable for any

breach of any express or implied warranty and that services we provide will be provided with reasonable care and skill.

4. We make no warranties in relation to the service provided without limiting the three above , all

warranties, representations or conditions relating to the services we provide (whether it's express or implied and whether in contract or common law or under the statue law) are to the maximum extent permitted by law expressly excluded.

5. You acknowledge that we're not liable for any loss , damage, accidental, incidental, indirect, special,

consequential or economic loss or damage (including loss of opportunity, exemplary or punitive damages) whether to person or property whether arising from default, negligence, misconduct or otherwise by us, our employees or our agents and you indemnify out against all claims.

6. As a player I warrant that:

I am in a fit state of health to play. I will not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs that may personally affect me while

playing. I have no pre-existing medical or other conditions which may cause me injury and could be

aggravated by playing. I have read and understood these competition terms and conditions. I will comply with these competition terms and conditions.

7. On entering the competition participants have read, acknowledge and agree to the above guidelines

and will act accordingly within these boundaries.

THE FFA COACHES CODE OF ETHICS

This code is designed:

To emphasise the elements of enjoyment and satisfaction to junior player’s and coaches

Involved in soccer. To make adults including parents and coach’s aware that young player’s play soccer to

satisfy themselves and not necessarily to satisfy adults or member’s of their own peer group. To improve the overall health and fitness of Australia’s youth by encouraging participation in

soccer and making it attractive, safe and enjoyable for all to play. To remind administrator’s, coach’s, referee’s and parents that soccer must be administered,

taught and provided, for the good of those young people who wish to play soccer, as ultimately “It is their game”.

Coaches Code of Ethics:

I will respect the rights, dignity and worth of all players and ensure that everyone is treated equally.

I will ensure that the players are involved in a positive environment, and that the game and training is a positive and enjoyable experience.

I will respect all player’s individuality and help them reach their own full potential. I will be fair, considerate and honest with all players. I will be professional and accept responsibility for my actions and encourage players to

demonstrate the same qualities. I will make a commitment to my team, and myself that I will continue to improve my own

knowledge of the game through coach education and various training programs. I will coach my player’s to play within the rules and in the spirit of the game of soccer. I will avoid any physical contact with the players and should it be required it would be

appropriate to the situation and necessary for the player’s skill development. I will refrain from any form of personal abuse towards my players. Also be aware to any

forms of abuse directed towards my players from other sources whilst they are in my care. I will refrain from any from of harassment towards my players. I will provide a safe environment for training and competition, by ensuring the equipment

and facilities meet safety standards. I will show concern and caution towards sick and injured players and allow for further

participation in training and competition only when appropriate. I will not engage in the use of crude, foul or abusive language that may be determined offensive

or engage in any conduct detrimental to the image of the game when on or off the field. I will refrain from arguing with the referee and / or assistant referees regarding decisions

they make. I will treat participants, officials and spectators with courtesy and respect. I will always encourage my team to play within the laws of the game. I will not consent to the use of any banned substance or drugs of dependence by my players. I will act in a responsible manner and accept responsibility for my actions.

*Referee’s have the ability to eject from the immediate playing area any coach acting outside the coaches code of ethics.

*Referee’s have the ability to eject from the immediate playing area any spectator acting outside the spectator code of behaviour.

This code is distributed to all teams upon registration.

Play by the rules and spirit of the game promoting fair play over winning at any cost.

Respect the decisions of officials, coaches and administrators.

Never argue with a referee, captain, coach or manager who is there to maintain discipline and fair play.

Respect the rights and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

Act with integrity and objectivity, and accept responsibility for your decisions and actions.

Do not tolerate harmful or abusive behaviours.

Accept defeat with dignity and don’t seek excuses for defeat or blame the referee or anyone else.

Control your temper and avoid verbal abuse, sledging or deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent.

Promote the interests of football and encourage other people to watch it or play it fairly.
