Peace and Best wishes
Principal
We thank you for the astonishing variety
of races and cultures in this world.
Enrich our lives by ever widening circles of friendship
and show us your presence
in those who differ most from us,
until our knowledge of your love is made perfect
in our love for all your children;
Through your son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
Dear Parents, Students and Friends,
Harmony Day
Harmony Day (21 March) celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. The theme for this year is “Thank You”, celebrating 15 years of Participation. At Marian Catholic College, Harmony Day was first celebrated in 2004. It is a major community event at our College and this year was a big as any held previously. Please take a moment to see the photo page further on in the newsletter. Below is an excerpt from the Harmony Day website http://www.harmony.gov.au/
In 2015 we celebrate 15 amazing years of Harmony Day…and it’s all because of you.
We want to thank you for the tens of thousands of events you’ve held, from the smallest child care centres to the largest businesses. In turn, you might like to thank the amazing people in your community who live the ‘everyone belongs’ message each and every day.
Our Marian “family”, should feel very proud to know that “inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone “ is very evident at our school.
Thank you to all the parents and students who met with teachers last night (Thursday) at the Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences for Years 7-11 . The Marcellin Hall was busy all evening with a steady flow of meetings. Staff commented on how positive and productive learning outcomes of these meetings. There were some teachers unable to attend. Parents who left phone numbers on the clip boards will be contacted soon.
Finally, the 2016 Year 7 Enrolment Information Evening was held last Tuesday. Over 200 parents and students were present. Places at the College will fill quickly so please spread the word if you know of families seeking enrolment for next year.
Peace and Best Wishes

MID COURSE EXAMS
These exams are an excellent opportunity for our Year 12 students to gain experience answering HSC style exam questions and the feedback they will get will serve to improve their performance in the future. It is a chance for students to demonstrate what they know, understand and can do. It is also a chance for them to see what they need to do to move their learning forward.
We wish Year 12 the best of luck over the next two weeks. I would encourage students to stay calm, yet work consistently throughout this exam period.
Good luck Year 12
