1. Preparations for making bannock
Get supplies
Prepare kitchen
Supplies
Ingredients:
• Flour (or whole-grain flour, optional) • Salt• Lard or oil• Baking powder• Water
SuppliesCast iron pan (at least 12” in diameter)
Large mixing bowl and spoon
Measuring cups and spoons
Clean Tea towel
Prepare kitchen area
• Set oven to 450°F
• Lightly grease cast iron pan
2. Mixing instructions
3 Cups Flour:- White or- Whole wheat
A shake of salt
1 Tbsp. Baking powder
Make a well and add:
3 Tbsp. Oil
1 ½ cups of Water, stir
Mixing
3. Kneading
10X – no more!
5. Bake the bannock
Bake @ 450°
20-30 minutes
Check often
✓Golden-brown
Great with butter
and jam!
