consequently not attenuated.

To achieve optimum spray water protection for the camcorder, the waterproof
sealing capmust be used. Prior to positioning the sealing cap, the sealing ring
should also be covered with a thin layer of the supplied silicon grease, in particular
when used in rainy weather or on water. Any sealing rings showing signs of damage
or wear should be replaced immediately.
With the waterproof sealing cap applied, the camcorder is spray water protected,
i.e. limited protection against water ingress has been provided. The waterproofsealing cap does, however not allow permanent use under water such as during
swimming and diving. The camcorder should also always be dried as soon as it is
in the dry again.

6.3. Connection to computer
Existing video and photo files can be directly
transferred from the camcorder to a compu-ter. Using the USB connection the date and
time of the camcorder can also be set.
Connect the USB cable to the camcorder and
the computer. As soon as the
camcorder is switched on, the computer

on. At the same time, the yellow LED lights up indicating that the battery is
charged up. To switch the camcorder off again, disconnect from computer.
6.4. Setting date and time
Date and time can be set on the camcorder and can be displayed on the videos
and photos. This can be done in two ways:
1. Use the DateSet
program on the software CD (Windows only). If the camcorder is connected to the computer, the program copies
a time.txt file containing the current date and time information
to the memory card.
Note: Please back up your data prior to installing the supplied software. The manufacturer shall not

2. Manually set up the time.txt file with the following text line (a template for
the file can be found on the CD):
YYYY.MM.DD hh:mm:ss Y/N
in which: Y = Year, M = Month, D = Day, h = Hour, m = Minute, s = Second
At the end of the text line select Y if the date and time are to appear on the

automatically deleted from the memory card.
6.5. Playback of videos on computer
Transfer video files to the hard disk of the computer prior to playing back
camcorder videos on the computer. This prevents playback faults that could be
caused by accessing the memory card via the USB connection or a card reader. The camcorder stores videos in the video format Motion JPEG (MJPG) and the
audio format PCM S16 LE. If you are unable to play back the video on your
computer, the required MJPG codec is not installed on your computer. You can
then either install the Codec if it is available to you or use the program vlc media
player (see section 6.1., Installation of software) provided on the supplied
software CD.
Note:
In case of faults during playback from the computer, such as image and sound being out of sync,
individual images being skipped or the image being frozen, this can be due to the performance of
the computer. Close all running programs and check the necessary system requirements (page 16).

7. Use of fixings
The supplied accessory offers numerous ways to secure the Maginon ActionSports HD 1 when carrying out your outdoor activities. The camcorder comes
with a bicycle or motorbike, helmet and arm fixing, extensions and sticky pads to
ensure secure fixing.
7.1. Camcorder mount
The camcorder mount is used with all installation options described below. Half
undo the bolt of the camcorder mount and then insert the camcorder as shown
in the below image.
Ensure that the camcorder is placed into the mount in such a way that it engages
with the main ring of the housing and not with one of the protective caps. The
mount may also not cover the operating button. Align the camcorder so that the
operating button faces upwards at the place of installation. Tighten the bolt of the
mount until you can feel increased resistance. Now place the camcorder mount
on the provided cycle, helmet or arm fixing and secure it with an additional fixingbolt.
If the alignment of the camcorders in relation to the mount has to be turned by
90 or if a greater distance to the mount is required, one or more extensions can
be inserted between the mount and the camcorder mount.

7.2. Cycle fixing
Use the supplied cycle fixing to secure the camcorder to a frame of a cycle, motorbike or another rod. Open the fixing by partially undoing both bolts and
turning away the bottom section. Place the top section around a suitable part of
the frame and replace the bottom section. Tighten both bolts on the fixing.
Ensure that the cycle fixing is attached to a point of the cycle or motorbike least
exposed to shocks and vibrations during riding.
7.3. Helmet fixing
The helmet fixing can be used to attach the camcorder to smooth surfaces, such
as helmets, surfboards or skis. Stick one of the self-adhesive pads to the bottom of
the helmet fixing and stick the fixing onto the cleaned surface.
Note:
Attention: The helmet xing is only suitable up to a speed of 50 Km/h !
For faster rides, such as on a motorcycle, there must to be used the cycle fixing.

21
Note that the self-adhesive pads contain two different adhesive surfaces. The
surface to be permanently attached is covered with white paper. This side is
generally stuck to the helmet fixing. The adhesive side covered with red foil can
be reused. This side is stuck to the surface of the place of installation and can be
pulled off again. If the fixing is not used, this side can be covered with the red foil
again for protection.

The helmet fixing consists of two parts, a base plate and the inserted fixing device.
The fixing device can be removed from the base plate by pushing together the
two brackets and sliding out the fixing device. In this way the base plate can be
left at the place of installation, allowing quick removal of the camcorder.
The holding device can also be used for the arm fixing (see section 7.4.).
Finally position the camcorder mount with the camcorder onto the bracket and
secure it with one of the additional fixing bolts.

Pull the Velcro strap as shown in the image below through the guide slots of the
arm fixing, until tight. Ensure that the fabric side of the Velcro strap faces inwards
when applied.
Place one of the fixing devices into the arm fixing inserted in the helmet fixing
when supplied. The holding device can be removed from the base plate by
pushing both brackets together and then sliding out the fixing device. The base
plate can then be left at the place of installation and the camcorder can be quickly
