Bulletin Lochinvar Public School
A unique school achieving success.
FAREWELL TO 2012 This will be our last Bulletin for 2012. It has been a busy
term and this week will bring the culmination of many
activities with our Christmas Concert and Presentation
Day. As I look back on the year I see many successes for
students, staff, parents and the school in general. Our
school continues to make an impression on visitors and for this I am very
proud. Our satisfaction survey also shows that a high percentage of
parents are very satisfied with what the school does and how it
performs. My congratulations to all our students for another successful
year academically, physically and socially. I thank them for their
continued hard work in the classrooms, playground and on the sporting
field. I wish the Year 6 students all the best for their future and trust they
will always remember that they are Lochinvar students and should be
very proud of that fact. Our teachers have also worked hard this year
keeping up their professional learning and providing an interesting and
stimulating learning program for their students. Our P&C has also
worked hard and successfully this year and their continued support for a
variety of school programs including Mathletics and additional seating for
the playground is appreciated by students and teachers. A big thank you
to all our Canteen volunteers who have helped, whenever possible,
through a difficult year for the canteen.
Sadly, we also wish farewell to several of our families who with changes in circumstances will be
leaving our school at the end of the year. We wish the Loveday girls, Shae and Abbi all their best at
their new school in the Blue Mountains. The Londero family is also moving to Tamworth and we
wish Jackson, Lilly and Chaleb all the best in 2013 at their new schools. We also wish to thank
Kristy Londero for her leadership of the P&C over the past 2 years and Kristen Owens for her part in
the P&C as Treasurer in 2009 and 2010. We appreciate your contribution to our school and wish
you well on your new adventures. We will miss you all. Another family relocating are the Renfrew
students. Flynn is heading to high school in Singleton and Harrison and Lillian will also relocate to a
new primary school in Singleton as well. We wish you all well in your new schools.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our families a very Merry Christmas and a safe and
happy holidays. I hope you have time to spend with family and friends and enjoy a well earned
break from routine. I thank you for your unconditional support of our school, its students and
their teachers. You make Lochinvar a very special school with many unique qualities.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CONCERT NIGHT ON THIS WEEK . Our Christmas Concert will be held on Wednesday evening at school. It will
commence at 7:00 pm and all classes have prepared a variety of performances
for your entertainment. We will also intermingle their performances with some
popular Christmas carols so we can be sure to bring the Christmas spirit to our
Concert. Families are invited to bring along their picnic chairs or rugs and to
find a place to enjoy the concert and sing a long with us. The concert should finish by 8:00pm. We
look forward to sharing this special evening with you all. As much as we enjoy parents recording
these performances on their phones, ipads, video and cameras, we ask that you reconsider
posting any footage on social media as several of our students are protected from external
photography and we would prefer their photos did not become public. I am sure you understand
the reasons that schools are forced to state this request.
3 DAYS ONLY IN THE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL Students should attend school on Monday, 17
th,Tuesday, 18
th and
Wednesday 19th December. These are nominated school days as well
as the final school days of 2012. Monday evening will be the Year 6
Farewell evening at Maitland City Bowling and students are excited
about this special evening. Students may come out of uniform on the last day of school if you wish.
Year 6 will be farewelled at the gate at 2:45pm. It is a sad but exciting time for them as they leave
the school grounds for the last time as primary school students. Parents can join us for this bitter
sweet experience but don’t forget your tissues as their teacher cries a lot!!
School will resume on Wednesday, 30th January, 2013 for all but Kindergarten students who start
on Thursday, 31st January, 2013.
PRESENTATION D AY THIS THURSDAY One of our special days of the year is on this Thursday, 13
th December. Our Presentation Day
Assembly will be held at the Conference Centre at the Mercure Hotel in Rutherford commencing
at 10:00 am. This assembly lets us acknowledge student success, application and improvement.
It also allows us to graduate all our Year 6 students and wish them well for high school. Our new
school Captains and Prefects for 2013 will also be announced. Families are invited to join us at
this very pleasant venue to celebrate student and school success.
FRIDAY IS CLASS PARTY D AY All students who attend school on Friday, 14
th December may come out of uniform as
it is Class Party Day!! Individual teachers may send home information regarding their
class party requirements but we do encourage students to bring along items of food to
share with their classmates. During the morning, all students will participate in a variety
of activities both inside and outside the classrooms with all the teachers. These
activities are to encourage fun and enjoyment with their peers and different teachers as we suspend
normal classes for our annual Party Day. We also have the chance to challenge Year 6 students in
a game of continuous cricket with Year 6 + teachers vs. Years 2, 3, 4 and 5 in a fun filled game on
the field. (weather permitting). It will be a great way to end the week.
