INTRODUCTION The proposed Linggi Port is a high impact project on the growth of
Melaka economy.
It is an integrated port development with various ship repair, warehousing, port facilities, tank farms, commercial, industrial and logistics facilities designed in.
It is supported by world class infra-structure & connectivity to ASEAN and Asian countries (airport, ports, railway system & roads)
It is approximately 2,250-2,500 acres in total.
Major components – shipyard/dry dock for ship repair, general fabrication yard, container port and storage area, customs administration complex (CIQ), integrated utilities and waste management centers, power plants, supply base, warehouses, oil products tank farms.
Mouth of Sungai Linggi. It is situated in the North of Melaka bordering to Negeri Sembilan.

RATIONALE Cross border cooperation between Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand
(IMT) especially in the growth triangle (IMTGT) and connectivity in ASEAN to focus on growing market in China and Northern Asia.
Strengthening collaboration and trade in regional networking and trading especially in commodity, manufacturing, tourism and services etc.
Unserved demand for shipping and logistics services in the Straits of Melaka.
Growing demand for supply base and oil & gas support services in the region.
Kuala Linggi is the closest point to Indonesia (approx. 47km only) and situated very strategically close to the International sea route from West to the East.

Oil & Gas supply base for imminent Acheh Oil & gas business growth.
Container port business overflow from Port Klang and Port Tg. Pelepas. Approximately 30% also due to better location and cost advantage.
Special trade tariff and incentive for trade with China and ASEAN countries under ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) and ASEAN Trade In Goods Agreement (ATIGA) respectively.
