Friends of the Library News
A pop up library will enable library staff to
register individuals for library cards and check
out books from virtually any location. The goal
is to make it easy for everyone in Hall County
to take advantage of library services.
The Friends of the Hall County Library have
contributed another $1000 to support this
program. HCLS is extremely grateful for the
support of both these organizations.

LET’S PLAY! STORYTIME MINI SESSIONS
Fridays Starting June 8th 10:30
Sessions include a story, songs, and social play time.
The true story of one family, caught between
America’s two biggest policy disasters: the war on
terror and the response to Hurricane Katrina. In the
days following the storm, Zeitoun travels New
Orleans by canoe, feeding abandoned animals and
helping elderly neighbors. Then police officers armed
with M-16s arrest Zeitoun in his home.
A riveting historical novel about Peggy Shippen Arnold, the cunning
wife of Benedict Arnold and mastermind behind
America's most infamous act of treason. Everyone
knows Benedict Arnold as history's most notorious
turncoat. Many know Arnold's co-conspirator, Major
John Andre, who was apprehended with Arnold's
documents in his boots and hanged. But few know of
the charming young woman who not only contributed
to the betrayal but orchestrated it.

THE FUNDRAISING AND ADVOCACY ARM OF THE HALL COUNTY LIBRARY
The Friends of the Hall County Library
raised over $3000 in our Spring Book Sale.
Thanks to all the volunteers as well as
shoppers!
This year, we held our first “Dark and
Stormy Night Tales” storytelling event for
adults, which was extremely popular.
JULY 13
Proceeds from the Friends’ annual book sale support the
Summer Reading Program. We also support initiatives not
funded by the library’s regular budget such as staff training
and equipment purchases.
This year, the Friends have sponsored performances by
authors, Sharyn McCrumb and Carmen Deedy and purchased
new meeting room tables.
Friends of the Library memberships run for a calendar year.
We hope you will renew your membership now, or join us for
the first time.
