Ayurveda Village at a meeting presided

over by Sri V. Sasi MLA. Sri S Ramnath

MD-KINFRA welcomed the gathering

the report and Sri. K. Sudhakaran GM,

KINFRA proposed the vote of thanks.

The Global village concept was first

proposed by Dr. Sam Pitroda, Chairman

of National Innovation Council, who

identified Ayurveda as one the keyareas of potential development for thestate. The Rs 200 crore project willcome up near Bio 360 Life SciencePark in Thonnakkal and will becompleted in three phases in four years.

Mani, Hon. Minister-Finance,Kerala has allocated an amount of Rs.148.79 cr. towards expenses for land ac-quisition, construction of Standard DesignFactories and other related industrial in-frastructure development activities.

“The Global Ayurvedic Village isenvisaged to be implemented on a PPPbasis”, observes Sri. S. Ramnath, MD,KINFRA. “Investors will be given theopportunity for promoting health tourism.Environment-friendly huts and cottageswhich will have specific standards totreat the demands of internationaltourists will be constructed.”

Global Ayurveda Village is the firstIntegrated Center of Clinical Excellencefor Ayurveda in Kerala. All related clinicaldepartments will come up at theAyurveda Village. The project will offera one-stop destination for all Ayurvedictreatments in a modern and scientificenvironment.

The Village will blend the most modernscientific developments with classicalAyurveda. A trans-national research anddocumentation centre, an internationalacademy, a finishing school and a digi-tal library are also proposed as part ofthe project. Magic Planet, a project envisaged by Sri. Gopinath Muthukad, renownedmagician is now being created in India’s first and only infotainment park, namelyKINFRA Film & Video Park, close to Technopark and Technocity inKazhakkoottam, Trivandrum. To be launched in late October 2014, the creation

of Magic Planet was officially announced inTrivandrum on February 10, 2014 by Sri. P.K.Kunhalikutty, Hon. Minister-Industries & IT ata function attended by leaders, artists andmagic lovers. KINFRA’s effort to promote indigenous medical practices bear fruit

into the world capital of Ayurveda.

The project is expected to createemployment opportunity (direct andindirect) for around 700 people. Asignificant contribution to state economyas taxes andallied incomeis anticipatedafter thep r o j e c tbecomes fullyf u n c t i o n a l .This project isdesigned toact as aplatform fork n o w l e d g eexchange anddisseminationand to provideglobal exposure and world class trainingfor ayurveda fraternity of the state. It willspearhead the efforts of standardizationand evidence based documentation inthe sector.

The formal inauguration of the earthwork forKannur International Airport Ltd. (KIAL) forwhich KINFRA played a leading role in theacquisition of land and allied issues, wasdone by Sri. A.K. Antony, Hon. DefenceMinister, in early February 2014. In fact,KINFRA was the nodal agency for theproject.

“Northern Malabar which continues to lag ineconomic development and industrialadvancement will receive a shot in the armwhen the new airport becomes operational,"

the Defence Minister said in his inaugural address. Earthwork for the airportincluding the runway and the airside work of the airport began in Mattannursoon after.

Hon. Chief Minister Sri. Oommen Chandy, who presided over the function,said efforts were on to start the work of the terminal building, air trafficcontrol tower and other facilities by April-May. Minister of the State for CivilAviation, Sri. K.C. Venugopal, who announced 26% share for AirportsAuthority of India (AAI) said the MoU in this connection will be signed oncethe AAI gets the formal acceptance of the offer from the State government.

Though land acquisition is a major problem for many infrastructure projectsin many places, in the case of KIAL in Mattannur, it became comparativelysmooth and easy on account of KINFRA’s long-term experience in the field,the Minister said.

The function was attended by people’s representatives, officials and politicalleaders. The KIAL handbook was also released on the occation.
