IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SUMMER PLAY GROUPS INSIDE See Page 3
This is a wonderful way for your child to learn about gravity.
How about this fun idea from Tinkerlab! A DIY Water Wall.
Here’s all you will need:
1. Plastic bottles
2. Screws
3. Drill
4. Exacto knife
With the exacto knife, cut a hole in the side of the bot-tle. The hole will be large enough for you to fit your hand into it so that you can easily position and drill in the screws.
Using the exacto knife, score an “X” on the side of a bottle and push a screw through the “X” from the inside. Re-peat one more time so that you have two screws poking through the bottle.
Screw the bottles to a fence or wall. Tilt them slightly downward to help the water pour through. You might have to shift the bottles around or cut the holes a bit more to make the water wall work properly. Test as you go
Add a bucket at the bottom to catch the water, which can then be added to plants or returned to the top of the water wall.
Do you know what will double your tots fun? You! Stick around and play with your little one.
My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say,
"You’re tearing up the grass." "We’re not raising grass," Dad would reply. "We’re raising boys”

Pajama Day!
LaVerkin Center
Hurricane Valley families have their own fun times
planned with water play and a pajama party!
Baby's eyes. If you will be out a long period of time or in the water, sunglasses and a hat are good for protecting baby's eyes. Early and frequent exposure to the sun can cause early cataract development.
With just a bit of extra care, you and your youngster will both enjoy all the fun that summer brings!
Bug Bites. Although some bites are fairly harmless- if not annoying- others can be quite painful and/or dangerous. Be extra vigilant about your little one. Even though it's hot, keeping your tot loosely covered with longer sleeves, long pants and socks will keep the bugs off and can prevent bugs biting your child.
The car. Watch out! That car seat may be hot! Buckling your little one in, even after a short trip to the store can be tricky. The metal on the buckle heats up very quickly and can cause a serious
burn if it touches your child's skin. Also- it's a no brainer folks- DO NOT leave your child alone in the car while you hop out "just for a second". Not even with the car's air conditioning running.
You never know what can happen in just that little bit of time.
UV rays. Summer time is sunburn time. Be sure to dot on lots of sunscreen. Don't forget the tops of your child's ears and the back of his/her neck.
