What is funded?The delivery of a joint master programme
• 60, 90 or 120 ECTS programmes• three consecutive cohorts off student intakes (4 or 5 year grant agreements depending on the length of the Joint
Master Degree programme)• organised by and international consortium of HEIs• guest lecturers are to be included for teaching, tarining and/or research purposes• a lump sum covering the consortium management fees and a mandatory minimum number of teaching (staff
mobility)
The award of scholarships to excellent students worldwide• a lumpsum for individual student scholarships covering the entire duration of the Joint Master Degree • scholarship varies in accordance with the students' country of origin, the duration and the amount of tuition • fees charged by the Joint Master Degree consortium, • The scholarship will contribute to cover: travel costs, installation costs, subsistence costs, course fees and
insurance costs
Maximum EU-cofinancing rate = 80%
Minimum three HEIs from three different
participating countries, one of which must be an EU Member State.
The active participation of at least one
organisation from the non-academic world
Eligibility criteria / Who can apply?
Coordinator = HEI from a Programme country
All participating HEIs from Programme Countries
• hold an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education• establish interinstitutional agreements amongst each other
All HEIs from Partner Countries establish interinstitutional agreements with HEIs from Programme Countries

• enterprises and other representatives of the world of work; • research institutions; • bodies active in the area of education and training; • non-profit organisations, NGOs; • associations, foundations, and other bodies involved in the fields of education and training; • local, regional and national public authorities; • …
Quality assurance during initial funding period
• Selection process with limited number of grants
• Submission of annual progress reports by consortium (necessary for next grant instalments)
• Online Mobility tool: qualitative and quantitative monitoring
• Minimally 1 monitoring visit
• Quality review at the end of initial funding period

After successful quality review: additional funding period of up to 3 student intakes
By the end of agreement, then invitation to apply for selection procedure (quality review) to the Joint Master Degree Catalogue
Current 138 existing Erasmus Mundus Master Courses will be funded until end of contract
