is seeking an individual to join our maintenance team. The Assistant Maintenance Superintendent supports the superin-
tendents by actively leading, reviewing and updating all maintenance components of Neptune Bulk Terminals through
planned and corrective maintenance, significant repairs, equipment breakdowns, and various Projects or Changes. The
successful candidate will be responsible to ensure the completion of all maintenance planning for Neptune Bulk Termi
nals . This is a full time position, reporting to Assistant Maintenance Manager.

Assistant Maintenance Superintendent (Electrical)

Key Responsibilities:

Promote and lead safety excellence, comply with all safety standards, be adept at creating, implementing and moni-
toring safety initiatives, perform safety and performance audits as well as field level risk assessments and tool box
talks.
Demonstrate electrical and electronic excellence in managing and maintaining the required availability and utilization
factors of the Coal and Potash Systems as per production schedule.
Prioritize, assign, review and report on the performance of maintenance foremen and employees, maintenance sys-
tems, contractors and operations on site, reporting learnings, gaps and improvements to the Superintendents.
Feedback of findings, learnings and recommendations to the reliability, planning and schedulers team, in order to
update the future plans/schedule/JDE.
Manage investigations, corrective actions, root cause analysis and follow-up, being also an alternate member of the
JOHSC Committee.
Assist in the design, development, and implementation of major capital projects and significant repairs and assist in
the preparation of annual maintenance and capital budgets.
Evaluates employee performance, conducts discipline as necessary and communicates with Union business agents
as required
Develop, maintain and account for department metrics and KPI’s.
Participate in Vendor selection, monitoring of performance to ensure that Costs, Quality and timeline meet mainte
nance requirements.
The Assistant Maintenance Superintendent will be assigned other duties as required.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong leadership skills in a unionized environment, coupled with the ability to promote a team culture.
Strong planning and organization skills, coupled with ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
Superior communication skills (written and verbal).
Strong technical skills with electric and electronic systems, coupled with a thorough understanding of PLC ’s, HMI’s
and EMS.
Flexibility to meet the requirements of a 24/7 operation.
Proficient with CMMS systems, MS Office Suite.

Education and experience:
Minimum Preferred
Education University or Technical School graduate, Interpro-
vincial Red Seal trade in a Electrical, Instrumen-
tation or Control trade
Electrical Engineering Degree
Or Instrumentation& Control Degree
Experience Minimum of five (5) years’ supervision experience in a unionized environment, supervising several
trade disciplines
Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in material bulk loading/unloading in a waterfront, mining, heavy industry or similar operation
