President’s Column
Our centre continues to have a variety of interesting, educational and entertaining programs.
Following our wonderful tradition of bringing different cultures to the centre, we enjoyed Indian Cul-ture day with an interesting colourful presentation by Donna Hamar. We also enjoyed a joyful Hawai-ian party and we thank Chabad Lubavitch of Edmonton for providing the tropical decorations. Another heartwarming program was Aboriginal poetry reading by Anna Maria Sewell. We enjoyed the Tu B' Shevat lunch at which Sharon Bookhalter and Jerry Glasser showed a very interesting travelogue of their participation in a JNF bicycle mission in Israel.
We sincerely appreciate our volunteer team Hanna, Bronia, Freda, Pauline, Ken, Naomi W., Anita, Phyllis, Paula W., Loretta, Reva, Lee, Donna, Alice, Robyn, Wendy, Des, Elaine, Leslie, Louise, Mark, Danny, Sheila and Richard who make the centre such a welcoming and beautiful place to come for pro-grams and friendship.
I am excited about our Purimspiel to be held two days after I write this column and I hope to see many of you there.
We extend a special thank you to Bonnie Austen and Ilonka Wormsbecker, our amazing fitness instruc-tors, for their presentation of the Fall Prevention Workshop.
We always appreciate receiving donations from our partner organizations. Thank you to Jewish Federa-tion of Edmonton for a grant of $12,000.00 , to ORT Edmonton for a donation of $5,000.00, to Na'Amat Edmonton for $2,000 and the Rotary Club of Edmonton - Strathcona for $2,500 toward our transporta-tion needs.
Thanks also to all our friends and members for their donations and cards. Please take an opportunity to commemorate or congratulate your friends and families on our beautiful Shalom Wall. Call the office at 780-488-4241 for details.
Best wishes for a Chag Pesach Sameach!
