Honolulu,Hawai‘i,(November1,2017)–WhentheChevronCorporationannouncedin2014thattheyweregoingtodivesttheirassetsinHawai‘i,manyworriedwhatwouldhappentotheislands’energylandscape.Afewentrepreneurswhounderstoodthecommunity’sneedforlocallyrefined,high-qualityfueldecidedtheywouldstepintothebreach.Thus,IslandEnergyServices,LLC(IslandEnergy)wasborn.And,todayitiscelebratingitsfirstanniversary.FinalizedinNovember2016,IslandEnergy’slandmarkacquisitionincludedallChevronstationsonO‘ahu,Maui,Kaua‘iandHawai‘iIsland,aswellastherefineryinKapolei,fourproductdistributionterminalsonO‘ahu,Maui,Kaua‘iandHawai‘iIslandandpipelinedistributionsystemsacrossallislands.Oneyearaftertheacquisition,IslandEnergyhasemergedasaleaderinHawaii’senergyindustry,injectingover50newjobstoHawaii’sworkforceandintroducingtheChevronsisterbrand,TexacowithTechron,tothemarketplaceastheofficiallicenseeoftheTexacobrandinHawai’i.“Weareproudofthefoundationwehavebuilt,andweareexcitedtomarkthisimportantanniversary,”saidJonMauer,IslandEnergypresidentandchiefexecutiveofficer.“Overthepastyear,ourteamhasworkedhardtosetthegroundworkthatcomeswithstartingupanewcompany.WeremaincommittedtomaintainingtheexcellentstandardsofserviceandproductsHawai‘iexpectsfromus,especiallytheinclusionofthescientificallyprovenTechronadditiveineverygradeofourhighqualitygasoline.Asweenteroursecondyear,welookforwardtofocusingoureffortsonourcustomersandouremployeesbyimprovingourbusinessoperationsandseekingnewwaystoserveourcommunity.”Today,IslandEnergyremainslocallymanagedandheadquartered,withthetransitionofallretailstationsstate-widewellunderway.Todate,theenergyleaderhascompletedthesuccessfultransitionofnearly80%ofallChevronsintoTexacowithTechronstationsacrossO‘ahu,Maui,Kaua‘iandHawai‘iIsland,andwithineightmonthsoftheacquisition,signedaleaseagreementfortheKamokilaTexaco,thefirstnew
