The hotel opens following the restoration of a building dated from the end of the 18th century which was, at first, intended to become the Monastery of Lios. Years later, it was bought by Manuel Cardoso dos Santos a wealthy member of Portos bourgeoisie who transformed it into his residence. The palace was then inherited by his three daughters, hence becoming known amongst the locals as The Cardosas Palace.Nowadays, the InterContinental Porto Palacio das Cardosas is a project developed by the prestigious interior designer Alex Kravetz and, due to its undeniable sense of heritage and authenticity, it is sure to become one of the best hotels in Porto.Overall, the hotel comprises 105 spacious rooms and suites, each exuding great warmth with a Portuguese flavor and lofty ceilings. The top floor will feature duplex suites, as well as two spectacular grand suites that boast breath taking panoramas overlooking the Clerigos Tower and the So Bento historical train station.
