Wilfley is the world’s dynamic seal expert
Wilfley invented the expeller almost a century ago and has continued to lead the advancements in hydrodynamic
sealing technology ever since.
gfghfffffffThe combination of the Wilfley Dynamic Seal and state-of-the-art static seals creates the complete sealing solution
for the toughest pumping applications.

Wilfley Process Pumps
Wilfley Slurry Pumps
• A superior alternative to mechanical seals and associated flush systems
• Operational abuse tolerant, e.g. cavitation and vibration
• Dry running capability
• Product dilution is eliminated
• Increases production by reducing down time
• Excellent solids/slurry handling capabilities
• Inherently safe without gland packing or frictional heat
How the Wilfley Dynamic Seal works:
• An air barrier (A) is established during pump operation by centrifugal forces generated by the expeller
• This air barrier successfully isolates the pumped fluid from the shaft
• A variety of proprietary static seals provide sealing at pump startup and shutdown

DryLock® II Static Seal(Available in A7 and A9 Process Pumps)
Check Valve Static Seal(available in K and Kpro® Slurry Pumps)
How the Check Valve Static Seal works:
• Weights centrifugally move outward as the pump starts up
• Weights push actuator plate and diaphragm away from stationary seal
• Spring forces seal components to close as pump shuts down
How the DryLock® II Static Sealworks:
• Balls centrifugally move outward as the pump starts up
• Balls push actuator plate to open seal components
• Isolated spring forces seal components to close as pump shuts down
State-of-the-art Static SealsWilfley pumps are truly dynamically sealed, preventing any leakage while running. At the same time, the static seal’s faces are completely open and non-contacting. When the pump stops, the static seal engages and closes the seal faces.
This simple concept creates a sealing solution that can withstand many un-favorable operating conditions, includ-ing cavitation. Wilfley is continuously improving its static seal capabilities.
