Organised Industrial Parks
• Objective : To locate and develop the industry through a prepared plan
• Benefits – Rational use of resources – Healthy growth of the city – Minimizing the environmetal effects of industry – Self management of industry – Ease of procedures for the industrialists
Organised Industrial Parks
• Procedure – City plan is prepared by the municipality – Rules and regulations are set by the Ministry of
Science, Industry and Technology – Municipality, chambers or industrial associations may
apply to the governorship for an industrial park – Governorship of the city evaluates and ministry
approves the application – Entrepreneurs committee is established under the
leadership of the governor – Entrepreneurs committee is responsible for the
infrastructure, allocating the parcels and act as one-stop-shop for the industrialists
– Entrepereneurs committee remains in charge until the 2/3 of the park is completed and in production

• 256 organised industrial parks in Turkey
• 34 sector specific parks
• 8 industrial parks in Istanbul
Development Agencies
• Objective : To support local development in line with the central development plans via public-private-partnership
• Established by law • Board of Directors

• Duties and activities – Coordinates local government branches,
municipalities, NGOs – Prepares regional plans in line with the central
