Who are you?
How did you get your identity?
What are you here for?
It is such great joy to be able to know and comprehend who we really are. IF NOT, THEN THAT IS CALLED
“IDENTITY CRISIS”.
Many people are unhappy because they cannot settle their identity. People often define identity around their :
Performance and Success
Failures and Possessions
Affiliations and
Accomplishments

1 Peter 2:9–10 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”
This is our CORPORATE/INDIVIDUAL
identity.
What gives us our identity is not color or
culture, but chosenness.
We are the not just the objects of his
choice, but the objects of his mercy.
GOD CHOSE YOU TO BE WITH HIM
FOR ETERNITY.
You are set apart for
God.
You exist for God.
God is holy, so you are holy.
If you do not act in a holy way, you act out of
character; you contradict your essence as a
Christian.
The point here is first that you have
immediate access to God.
You have an exalted, active role in God's
presence.
that you may proclaim the
excellences/praises of Him who has called
you out of darkness into His marvelous
light” v9.
We are who we are because of
God’s sovereign call.
WE DID NOT
EARN IT.
Christian you cannot talk about your
identity without talking about the action
of God on you, the relationship of God
with you, and the purpose of God for you.
God has given us our identity in
order that his identity might be
proclaimed through us.
Our DESTINY IS
DEPENDING ON HOW
WE LIVE OUT OUR
IDENTITY.
being a Christian and making
the greatness of God known
are one and the same.
God made us who we are to
show the world who HE is.
