Eliminate Colony Sites

• Fill or cover holes and sites,

• Fill in animal burrows,

• Remove trash or debris such as automobile parts, tires, used appliances, boxes or stacks of crates, etc.

•Seal holes in walls, foundations, eaves.–Use hardware cloth &/or caulking.

Inspect Your Home for Signs of Honeybee

Colonies• Look for numerous bees pass

into or out of an opening,

• Listen for the hum or buzz of active bees,

• Check from all levels from the ground up to under the eaves.

If You Find a Bee Swarm or Colony

• Keep everyone away,

• Have it removed immediately, don’t wait,

• Call the State Plant Board or consult the yellow pages for “bee removal” or “pest control” for someone willing to remove the bees,

• Have all remaining comb, etc. removed.

Do Not Attempt to Remove or Destroy Honeybee Colonies by Yourself
