NEWS LIVE FROM HAWAII...ALOHA FROM KAILUA KONA, HAWAII! FOLLOWING ARE SOME SNAPSHOTS FROM THE LAST 3 MONTHS OF OUR
LIVES. AS THE YEAR DRAWS TO A CLOSE, WE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT. ITS
BEEN AN EVENTFUL YEAR SEEING PEOPLES LIVES CHANGE ON A DTS, LEADING AN OUTREACH, VISITING
AMAZING PLACES LIKE EPHESUS IN TURKEY, A TRIP BACK HOME TO SOUTH AFRICA, EXPERIENCING OUR
SECOND CHILDS BIRTH IN HAWAII, AND PREPARING FOR OUR SPORTS DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING SCHOOL...
After a stretching but wonderful DTS (Discipleship Training
School) experience and an outreach in Eastern Europe and Middle
East, we left for beautiful South Africa. Seeing all our friends and
both my (Erik) and Marguerites families was such a highlight! And,
amazed once again at Gods provision for us,we could purchaseplane tickets back to the US at an incredible price. We arrived back
on the University of the Nations, Kona campus in August. Thats
after Kara fell at Dubai International Airport and had to get four
stitches on her forehead...

Starting with a bang!
Karas dad didnt do much better. Afew daysafter ourarrival in Hawaii I cut my foot pretty badly and was immobile for
a few weeks! Not to mention falling on my back to be immobile
again for another week only a few weeks later...
But life goes on! We switched gears from being involved in
DTS to serving in various ways on our campus. Coaching
swimming and soccer has given mesome great opportunitiesin both the local communityas well as in our campus' kids
school. This next quarter Im coordinating work duties for all 650
expected DTS students as well as building a DTS staff team.
Marguerite's been doing an amazing job raising Kara and
visiting with other moms as she got ready for Maryke's birth.
Good thing too, because Maryke was tired of being in mummys
tummy and decided to come more than three weeks early! Our
lives have definitely changed. Again. And were grateful that
God provided us with an amazing vehicle before Maryke
arrived, hallelujah! Maryke is perfectly healthy and is trying to get
used to the pace of her sister who loves to hand out hugs and
kisses.
We've been adjusting slowly but surely and life has
returned back to normal... well, sort of! We do face some
challenges though, the maternity bill being our biggest prayer
need. Even with medical insurance, we end up paying more
than double we thought we would. Our faith is continually being
put to the test and we want to succeed. Ps.20:7 Some trust in
horses and chariots, but we trust in the name of the Lord our
God!
Karas 3 favorite things: the beach, shoes and Papas
phone...
PRAY FOR:The April Sports DTS - The
logistical and spiritual preparation
for the school and for the
students that are applying.
The Sports DTS staff team -
For more of the right people tojoin our team.
Gods continued provision -
For our us personally and also for
the Olympic outreach in London.
Us as a family - that we would
continue to grow as parents and
in our desire to follow Jesus, and
that we would be wise as we
enter a busy season of coaching,
teaching, discipling andparenting. Doing life!

Kara expresses her art form. Messy meets creative. A messy creation.
During the April 2012 quarter,Marguerite and Iwill leadaSports DTS. We can't wait! We are excited as students have
started applying and our first staff arrives mid January! Our
outreach will be in London for the Olympics and we believe
God is going to do amazing things. Our goal is to see
coaching and sport science degrees developed in YWAMs
University of the Nations and were encouraged that it's
starting to happen. Every step counts. To find out more about

Omega International
God started speaking to us a couple of
years ago about seeing sport developed in
countries like Afghanistan, Iran, and India.
We had no idea how to make this happen.
We recently met Alessandro and Marsha,
Brazilians working in Afghanistan. We first
met in Turkey, then again in Kona! A divine
appointment. I aim to visit Afghanistan inthe next year to scout for both coaching
opportunities as well as the possibility of
establishing a sport center.
