It takes a lot of chutzpah to pulloff a show featuring 50+ vendor boothsranging from Petroleum Jobber to can-dies and everything in between. Butthat’s exactly what Georgia Retailers Asso-ciation, LLC (GRA) did over a weekend onJune 13, 2010 at the Global Mall, Norcross,fetching more than 700+ retailers to availthe best discounted deals at the show. Itprovided all manufacturing companies a plat-form to have great exposure, with an op-portunity to meet retailers who make pur-chasing decisions, said a press release

issued by GRA.The trade sow was inaugurated by

chief guest General David Poythress,who is in the fray for Governor of Geor-gia; and directors of GRA.

Besides receiving free samples andbest discounted deals from the vendors,the trade show brought an opportunityfor retailers to take part in raffle drawsevery 30minutes, and free lunch.

Retailers enjoyed the businessdeals all day along, along with a happyouting with their family.

king of bhajan and jagran, and formerBollywood playback singer, was at theGlobal Mall on June 12th for an all nightjagran. Over 700 people attended thejagran at the second level fitness centerat the mall.

The event was part of Chanchal’sworld tour, and was brought to Atlantaby Ved Bhatia of TV Asia, Pandit VedJoshi of Sadhana Mandir and GlobalMall.

Chanchal composes and sings de-votional songs called bhents and bhajansof Maa Vaishno Devi.

Even though he rose to fame withhis playback singing for Raj Kapoor’sfilm ‘Bobby’, he did not want a filmcareer, devoting his life instead, to sing-ing bhents.

He was recently awarded honor-ary citizenship of the state of Georgiafrom the Governor’s Office in Atlanta.

the food court has a new name and a newowner. Chinese Rasoi, which is now re-named Chinese Dhaba, was recently takenover by Nadir Jiwani of B4U Music, aknown face at the mall. Those who fre-quent the mall have known Jiwani overthe past three years as the friendly owner

of the music video/DVD store that is rightacross the food court.

The convenience of operating bothbusinesses from the same location was anattractive proposition for Jiwani. “Thisfood place has great potential,” he says. “Iknow that with quality food, good man-agement and by treating the customerright, I can bring the business back.”

“We take the customer’s adviceabout the food we serve seriously. Westrive to get it right,” he adds.

Chinese Dhaba has mouth wateringIndo-Chinese favorites on its menu includ-ing popular items like chicken bullet, gobimanchurian, vegetable coins in manchuriansauce, crispy chili paneer, chickenmanchurian, chicken szechuan, chili garlicnoodles and sea food dishes. The menu alsohas sweet new additions like the shahi kulfifalooda with lots of nuts, and ice creams inIndian flavors like anjeer, kaju draksh andmango.

Already, with word-of-mouth

news about Jiwani taking over the eat-ery, customers are flocking back toChinese Dhaba he says, adding: “Wehave started to get customers fromneighboring states as well.”

Chinese Dhaba is a family runbusiness. Jiwani’s wife Mubarak,who is a great cook herself, helps inthe running of the eatery, and is thebackbone of his businesses. They havealso retained the three chefs from theearlier Chinese place.
