of 120 lbs to the hundred and 2100 to the ton) of pipe-clay to Liverpool
every year for 7 years, at rates of upto 250 tons per month. The potters also
agreed not to buy clay from any other pits etc within 20 miles of the port of
Teignmouth in Devon. The potters shared the clay in agreed portions.

Stoneycliffe, Leek, Staffs, between William Plant of Stoneycliffe, Leek,
Staffordshire to John Hulme of Thornecliffe, Leek and Thomas Mellor of
Worslowe, Alstonefield, dated 16 April 1662. Vellum, signed and sealed.
The settlement of Stoneycliffe was on William Plant the elder for life, then
half for the benefit of his wife Alice for life and half for the benefit of
Plant's son William. The entail of the estate passed to the heirs male of
William and if there were none, then to William Plant the elder's second son
James and then to James's first son and so on. Plant family genealogical
