Last Wednesday, 14 February, parents/ caregivers met informally with teachers for our annual “Meet and Greet” barbecue. The a ernoon was a great opportunity for parents/caregivers to meet and discuss their children’s educa onal needs with their teachers. Thank you to those who a ended and to those who assisted with the various tasks. Bullying is something parents and teachers may have to address together during a child’s me at school. At Allora P-10 State School, we do not tolerate bullying and act quickly to address issues when they are presented. In our “Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students” located on the school website: h ps://allorass.eq.edu.au/Pages/default.aspx under “Quick links” there is a sec on on bullying, complete with a hyperlink to an excellent resource for students, parents and teachers. Please take a moment to browse through this resource and if you like what you see, share with others.
The Allora SCOPE Club have generously sponsored an an -bullying program off ered by Griffi th University tled: The Mate Bystander Program. This program aims to engage par cipants in discussions about abusive behaviour and the ways we unwi! ngly create a culture that nurtures gender inequality. It is designed to teach community members how to recognise abuse and have the confi dence to speak out and off er help. The program is targeted at students in Years 7-10 and will run on Monday, 5 March during the school day. Le ers with a permission slip a ached have been sent home with students. Please
