How It Works

Designed for on-site refueling of construction, mining, forestry and agricultural equipment. Interchanges with Caterpillar® and Wiggins systems.

Features

• Thedieselfueltankhasaventatthetopandafuelreceiveratthebottom.

• Thetankisfilledfromthebottomtohelppreventfoaming.

• Attach the FloMAX nozzle to the receiver and lift the actuator handle to the on or open position.

• Asthefuelfillsthetankfromthebottom,airexitsthetopthroughthevent.

• Whenthefluidlevelreachestheventtube,thehollowballinthetubewillfloat,pushingthesolidballuptoclosetheventandstoptheairflowoutofthetank.

• Withnoairventingoutofthetank,pressurewillbuildinsidethetank.

• Pressurebuildsupinthetankreachingapproximately8PSIinthetankandinsidethenozzle.

• Aspressureincreasesinthenozzlecylinderassembly,thepistonispushedbackagainstthepistonspring.

• Whenenoughpressurepushesthepistonback,thenozzleclosestheopeningforthefuelflowandthenozzleisshutoff.

• Rotatetheactuatorhandletherestofthewaytolockitintheoff position.

• Afterthenozzleisshutoffitcanbedisconnectedfromthereceiver.

• Withyourpalmonthehandleandyourfingersonthepullbackhandle,pullittowardsyouuntilthelockingdogslockintheOPENpositionandthepullbackhandlelocks in the OPEN position. see figure 1

• Tocheckifitisopened,looktoseeifthedogsarelockedopenandareoutsideoftheIDofthefrontassembly.see figure 2A (open) figure 2B (closed)

• Afteryouhavepushedthenozzleallthewayontothe receiver so the front end is past the groove on the receiver,thepullbackhandlewillsnapforward,nextlockthe nozzle onto the receiver.

• Pullthenozzlebackslightlytomakesureitisproperlyconnected to the receiver.

• Pullthelatchbackandrotatetheactuatorhandleupwards. see figure 3

• Todisconnect,rotatetheactuatorhandledownuntilthelatch snaps forward and locks it in the OFF position.

• Push forward on the nozzle to relieve pressure on the pullbackhandleandthedogs.

• Withyourpalmonthehandleandyourfingersonthepullbackhandle,pullittowardsyouuntilthelockingdogs lock in the OPEN position.

• Pull the nozzle off the receiver. see figure 4

• AfteryouremovethenozzlefromthereceiverthepullbackhandleshouldremainlockedintheOPENposition.

• Withyourpalmonthehandleandyourfingersonthepullbackhandle,pullittowardsyouandholdthepullbackhandleasyoupushthenozzleontothereceiver. see figure 1

• WiththepullbackhandleintheOPENpositionthelockingballsshouldberetracted.see figure 2

• Afteryouhavepushedthenozzleallthewayontothe receiver so the front end is past the groove on the receiver,letthepullbackhandlespringforward,pushingagainst some resistance the last ¼" inch past the groove on the receiver.

• Ifthepullbackhandledoesnotspringforward,thenpushthenosetowithin¼"fromthehexonthereceiversothatthepullbackhandlewillsnapforward.

• Pullthenozzlebackslightlytomakesureitisproperlyconnected to the receiver.

• Pullthelatchbackandrotatetheactuatorhandleupwards. see figure 3

• Todisconnect,rotatetheactuatorhandledownuntilthelatch snaps forward and locks it in the OFF position.

• Push forward on the nozzle to relieve pressure on the pullbackhandleandthelockingballs.

• Withyourpalmonthehandleandyourfingersonthepullbackhandle,pullittowardsyouandholdthepullbackasyoupullthenozzleoffthereceiver.see figure 4

• Afteryouremovethenozzlefromthereceiverletthepullbackhandlereturntoitsnormalposition.
