Maureen McLaineTexas A&M University Freshman Year Environmental Design
I am a freshman environmental design major who has a passion for making the world more beautiful than it already is. I am on the Texas A&M swim team and am an NCAA all-American. I push myself harder than anyone, and I am not afraid of shooting beyond known limits. Working in the architectural field is the only place that I can see that will let me have a career that is a vocation rather than simply a paycheck. Back in high school, I was the kid who got penalized for doing more than the teacher asked for, yet my project would be the only one hung up in the room as artwork. I have always had a love for attempting to make things beautiful and more appealing than they already are. The idea of turning something ordinary into extraor-dinary would be a problem that I would be the first one to volunteer for. I am a driven young woman who hopes to share my ideas and creations with the rest of the world.

Microdwelling Fall 2010
Microdwelling Fall 2010
The microdwelling was designed to get a maximum view in a minimal amount of space in Seattle, Washington. The tiny house has a lofted bed area acces-sible by ladder with a combined and transformable kitchen/living area below.
Behavioral Setting 2010
Microdwelling Fall 2010
The behavioral setting is eco-friendly with a green roof and is enjoyable for all ages. This handicap-accessible home focuses on the views of the lake behind it. Natural light is accessible in every room so that there is minimal direct sun-light exposure. The large porch is partially covered and surrounded by the home’s windows for an open feel. Entertain-ing is made easy as the different wings of the house are separated into private and public sections. The view of the lake is able to be seen as soon as you walk into the house. The glass wall opposite of the enterance is accessible to the pa-tio and provides a lakefront view immidiately. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom as well as great views of the land. Large columns in the front and back give a great architectural look and provide extra shade to the exposed windows
Industrial Design Fall2010
Industrial Design Fall2010
My design for a modern shoe rack is an exotic twist from the traditional organizational meth-ods. The different size compartments fit all types of shoes ranging from cowboy boots to high heels. The clean, modern feel was able to turn my chaos of shoes into a beautiful and interesting design

The new floorplan for the AZYMUTH food and coffee shop has a split level floor plan with a study area that overlooks the cam-pus. It offers a fun and neoteric retreat for students to renour-ish and have a place to retreat from their busy school routine.
