Slab Pull
C.B. Features
1. Convection Currents: The unequal heating of the
Asthenosphere creates density differences and movement, which exerts a force on the Tectonic Plates. Density example: Lava Lamp
2. Ridge Push: As the mid-ocean ridge grows gravity pushes the old lithosphere down and away from ridge.
3. Slab Pull: As the two plates collide the densest oceanic plate subducts and gravity pulls it into Asthenosphere, while pulling on the rest of the Tectonic Plate.
