FASTalk helps teachers engage diverse families to improve student outcomes.

FASTALK IS EASY & WORKSParents receive simple activities by text in their preferred language to support at-home learning.

Teachers engage diverse families through two-way messaging with automated translation in more than 100 languages.

Activities are aligned with the academic calendar and curriculum in preK-5, and sent automatically.

Teachers receive a weekly summary of the activities parents complete.

“One of my goals is to increase parent involvement. FASTalk enables parents to have meaningful conversations with their children at home AND they don’t need to obtain any materials to develop their child’s literacy skills! I appreciate how FASTalk is offered in multiple languages to reach all of our families and enables parents, regardless of socio-economic status or cultural background, to become actively involved in their child’s academic success in school!”

- Jennifer Kim, 1st Grade Teacher, Manzanita Community School

IMPACT IN OAKLANDAn evaluation of undertaken with the OUSD Department of Research, Assessment & Data, revealed:• accelerated student literacy gains for FASTalk students by 0.5 to 1.1 months;• FASTalk students whose parents do not share a language with their child’s

teacher exhibited accelerated literacy gains of 1.6 to 2.8 months; and• FASTalk students experienced higher grades, test scores, and attendance.
