In July, artists are invited to An-thony Road Winery on Rte. 14 on the west side of Seneca Lake, on July 14 & 15, July 21 & 22 and Jul 28 & 29. Paint-ing times all days run from 9 am to 2 pm. Art-ists are invited to paint within a 3 mile radius of
the winery.
Plein air painting is the act of painting outdoors, leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing drawing and painting in the land-scapes. The practice
goes back for centuries but was truly made into an art form by the
French impressionists.

Art Exhibits in the Region
Rockwell Museum, Corning NY
Andy Warhol, now until Sept. 3
The Rockwell Museum is featuring “Andy Warhol’s Art Factory featuring The Marilyn Mon-
roe Suite” through Sept. 3rd. Visitors can experience the art and influence of the globally
acclaimed pop artist at the exhibition which includes ten editions of Warhol’s well known
Marilyn Monroe portrait, a silkscreened can of Black Bean Soup and other iconic works. The exhibition includes works
on loan from the Swope Art Museums as well as others from local private collections.
The impact Andy Warhol’s work continues to have on contemporary artists establishes him as one of the most influential
artists of the 20th century. His revolutionary approach to the process of making art changed the way artists work, the
tools they use and who was deemed qualified to be an artist. Warhol drew inspiration from the commercial world around
him, creating icons or materialism that questioned the consumer culture of America.
