Welcome to worship this morning at First Baptist Church. Peo-ple have been pray-ing this week for something very sig-nificant to happen in our worship services today. I pray that you open yourself to all that God would speak to your heart to-day. For those who are our guests, we count it a great honor that God would lead you to worship with us. Please take a moment to complete the guest registration card. This card will be of tremendous help to us as we seek to get to know you and to minister to the needs of your family.
I want to say a special word of thanks to everyone who partici-pated in First Baptist Church Loves Lafayette yesterday. Let us pray that the ministry of yesterday fans the fire for future ministry in our city and beyond. My prayer is that we will not stop with just one day of love through service. Instead, I pray that having a love that labors will be one of the testimonies of our church.
Today brings to a close a 16 part sermon series we have called “Finding Your Story in HIStory.” We have recapped some of the major movements of history to see how God has moved. I hope that you have seen God’s perspective about His plans for you. Next Sunday, we are going to transition for just one Sunday with a special celebration of First Baptist Church. I will be preaching on the subject, “The Story of First Baptist Church.”
This is an opportunity for prospective and new members to learn more about the history, ministries and beliefs of First Baptist. Pastor Steve Horn will lead this session on May 6 at 3:45 p.m.
The French Rally 2012 will take place on Friday, April 27, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Morgan City. Fellowship Supper will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the Rally Program will begin at 6:30 p.m.
