TUDIO SITGES, near Barcelona, is a brand new, purpose-built studio
which sets a new standard for commercial photography and video
venues. It has been commissioned by Ocinum Lda – a Portuguese
media company – and designed by world-renowned American
architect TOM KUNDIG in his first European venture. €6m and 3 years
of uncompromising construction have resulted in an alliance of practical
effectiveness and creative stimulus.
The two linked studios and service areas – of total 800m2 and 5m height –
which can be combined if required – have every supporting facility you
would expect and some that you wouldn't, such as 5 en-suite “hotel” rooms,
spa and even a wine cellar. The adjacent beach is in effect an extension of
the studio. The entire studio can readily adapt to other types of events such
as product launches and workshops.
