Healthy lifestyle is the key to have a better life. We often hear about it but what does it mean actually?
There are many ways on how to lead a healthy lifestyle. It consists of our daily activities and habits. First and
foremost, we must start with our eating habits. If we have the correct eating habits, we will become
healthy. To have the correct eating habits, we must have balanced diet. A balanced diet is a diet which
consists of all the nutrition s that our bodies need to function normally. We can refer to the food pyramid as a
guide to have balanced diet. For example, we must take a lot of carbohydrates like bread and cereal
because they are the sources of energy. Besides that, we should also eat a large amount of green
vegetables and fruits as they provide us with vitamins which are useful for us to increase our bodies’ defence
against diseases. We must also drink plenty of water to prevent loss of water. We should drink at least 8 glasses
of water a day. Besides having the correct eating habits, we must also exercise regularly. We do not have to
go to the gymnasiums to do exercises. We can do it at our own home yard like brisk walking and jogging. If
we also do not have time to do so, we can play games instead of jogging. Badminton is one of the games
that we can play every evening or maybe once in a week if we are that busy or work aholic. We can also
do some exercises by doing chores like cleaning our house compound. One of the way to lead life a
healthy lifestyle is having enough rest. As a student, we must sleep early. This is to prevent us from being
tired the next day. There fore, we can give full concentration when our teachers are teaching us in class. A
study shows that we must have 8 hours of sleep. If we often stay up at night at night before, it means that
we are not leading a healthy lifestyle all this time. Starting from today, we must stop from doing that. Besides
that, we must also avoid bad habits like smoking and drinking alcohol. As students, we are for bidden from
being involved in these bad habits. But still there are some students especially boys who are addicted to
smoking even tough cigarattes are legal only for 18 years and abave. In Islam, dringking alcohol is sinful and
illegal. Nowdays, people do not care about all these laws as long as they get what they want. We as
students, must avoid these habits to have a bright life in future. We must also follow the slogan ‘Say NO
To Smoking’ By following all the ways given, we can lead a healthy life style because it is the key to a better
life. Therefore, we must start a healthy life style from now.
