Pre-Placement Learning Activity
For this assessment, you must type up your answers before you meet your mentor. Then
click Finish and Save as Draft so when you show your mentor they can add their name and
email address. You will then click Finish and Complete Response.
For example, clicking on the Pre-Practice Learning Activities document looks like this:

Some assessments have multiple parts (pages) which are listed as numbers down the
left hand side. Your progression through the document is displayed on the top right. You
must read the on screen instructions, complete the document and click Finish.
Then you will be asked if you want to save your work as a draft (to edit later), complete the
response (locks it), resume editing the document, or abandon (exit without saving).
Some assessments also have checkboxes and radio buttons. Check boxes allow you to tick all
that apply. Radio buttons are a choice between two options, but not both.

Completing Mentor Assessments
To allow your mentor (or IPE/Hub & Spoke participants) to complete documents, you must
log in to your account and open the document or guide your mentor. They must enter their
name and e-mail address to verify each document. This will lock the completed document
and email a copy of the text entered to the Mentor. Do not enter your mentor’s name and
e-mail on their behalf, as this may be non-academic misconduct. The school will also verify
the email addresses entered into the system to ensure proper use.
To browse through Mentor documents for information, you may find it useful to access the
OAR PDF from the Resources section.
Completed assessments
You can find all your previously completed student and mentor documents by clicking on

If you save as a draft an assessment on the tablet, it cannot be seen on your web/computer
based account. The information only exchanges between your tablet, computer, and visa
versa when the assessment has been completed.
Mapping Essential Skills Clusters against a checklist
To keep track of which skills are still to be signed- off, when the mentor submits an ESC
document, you the student must map this against the checklist.
Click on Completed assessments in the navigation menu. Then click View Full Response of
the ESC (there may be more than one so check the date).
Then, click Mark Competencies and tick the corresponding boxes for each box the mentor
ticked off as Achieved on this document.

This is an overview of what still has to be achieved. Your Mentor and Tutor will be able to
see the evidence (completed mentor documents) for each checkbox you tick off.
To see an overview at any time of your progress, click onto Progress and Reports from the
navigation menu, then select Checklist Completion Report. Here you can see what still has
to be achieved. Clicking on the skill number (e.g. ESC 1.8) will show the signed mentor form
as evidence for that entry.
