Carolina Fortuna (JSI) and Marko Grobelnik (JSI) presented the tutorial on the Web of Things at the 20th International WWW conference in Hyderabad, India.
PlanetData project was presented under the title PlanetData: Consuming Structured Data at Web Scale by Elena Simperl and Barry Norton from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology at the 1st International Symposium on Data-driven Process Discovery and Analysis on June 30, 2011

Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (UPM) received the yearly organized Linked Data Triplification Challenge prize during the I-SEMANTICS 2011.The “open data track” challenge award went to Daniel Garijo, Boris Villazón and Oscar Corcho for their contribution A Provenance-Aware Linked Data Application for Trip Management and Organization.
The I-SEMANTICS best paper award went to PlanetData partner, Freie Universität Berlin (FUB) in association with UPM, for their contribution entitled “DBpedia Spotlight: Shedding Light on the Web of Documents“ by Pablo N. Mendes, Max Jakob, Andrés García-Silva and Christian Bizer
