Plan of Action (Realization)
1. Remedial Classes – For poor and backward class students facility for remedial
classes is provided for which a separate time-table is formulated according to UGC
directives. Twenty to thirty students from each class were selected on the basis of
their academic standards as judged from their previous results and tests conducted
during the orientation programme. Noticeable improvement was found in the
results of such students. These classes were conducted in the following subjects :

5. Career-Oriented Programmes (COP under UGC Grants) :
Fashion Designing : According to the XI plan of UGC the add on course of
Fashion Designing was conducted as certificate course training for first year
students, diploma training for second year students and post diploma training for
final year students.
Functional Hindi : This is also an UGC sanctioned course conducted in the same
pattern of certificate, diploma and post diploma training for first, second and final
year students respectively.
E-Commerce : A certificate course in Tally was conducted for the students of first
year.

COLLEGE ACTIVITIES DURING THE SESSION

PART – B
1. Activities reflecting institutional vision, goals and objectives
The Vision and mission statements of the Institution are completely in tune with the
Higher Education policies of the nation. The Institution caters to the all round development
and value-based education of girls which is also the policy of the nation. Our institution
being a minority one and situated in a backward constituency, further promotes higher
education for backward and minority communities, which is wonderful moral, cultural and
spiritual environment to allow complete self development of the students. The various co-
curricular activities further promote this spirit.
Since our college is run by the member of Arya Vidhya Sabha who follow the ideas of
“Swami Dayanand Saraswati”, Our curriculum includes Prayer, Hawan, Assembly, Yoga
and Spiritual Discourses to preserve our age Old Vedic culture and tradition.
The following activities were performed in the session 2014-15

In-charge- Dr. Uma Tripathi
1) Prayer – At 7.30a.m. the college activity begins with the chanting of Gayatri
Mantra & Prayer & National Anthem.
2) Thought of the Day – Daily a quotation on moral and spiritual issues is written on
the notice board so that the students are inspired to follow them.
3) Assembly – A weekly assembly is held every Saturday at 7.30a.m. in which
students are given chance to speak on moral topic or narrate some stories with
moral lesson.
4) Hawan – since performing “Hawan” is a part of Arya and Vedic culture. It is a
part of regular curriculum. Hawan is performed by the students every Saturday at
10.50 a.m. It is believed that Hawan purifies the atmosphere as well as the mind
and gives a positive mental force to live a better life.
5) Special Hawan – On Special occasions special Hawan are performed.
a) Welcome Hawan : To welcome the new comers of 1st year classes, a welcome
Hawan is performed on the first working day of the session on 30th June, 2014.
b) Hawan for National Integration : A special Hawan is organized on 15th of
August 2014 to marks. The Independence Day celebrations. The Special Hawan
was performed by Arundev Sharma who spoke and guided the students on the
occasion.
c) Hawan for Republic Day : A special hawan was performed for the students on
the Republic Day 26th January 2014. Pt. Amresh Arya performed the Hawan.
d) Farewell Hawan :- At the end of the session farewell Hawan is performed. On
14th March 2014, Pt. Surendrapal was invited to perform the hawan.
Shraddhanand Balidan Diwas – Swami Shraddhanand was a Staunch follower of
Swami Dayanand Saraswati, who scarified his life for the cause of humanity. He is
remembered on 23rd December 2014 on the day of his Martyrdom by performing a
Special Hawan.
Rishi Bodhotsave Diwas – Swami Dayanand Saraswati got enlightenment on
‘Maha Shivaratri Purva’. This day is celebrated as Rishi Bodhotsava Diwas and
special Hawan performed Pandit Acharya Veerendra Shastri, Pt. Amresh Arya gave
spiritual discourses on 14/02/2015 to 17/02/2015.
Shravani Parva – A special Hawan is performed on Raksha Bandhan as ‘Shravani
Purva’ in which students are involved in Special Hawan on

Ved Prachar Saptah – Every year during Raksha Bandhan to Krishna Janmashtmi
time a seven day special ‘Ved Prachar Saptah’ is celebrated to spread Vedic culture
among students Daily different discourses by Saints and seers are also organized
for the students. Pt. Chandrapal, Pt. Surendra Pal conducted the Ved Prachar
Saptah from 10/08/2014 to 17/08/2014.
Spiritual Discourses –
1) On 16/08/2014 Pt. Chandrapal gave spiritual . He stressed on purity of
thoughts and purity of character.
2) On 16/02/2015
The Management is totally committed towards welfare of the students and
staff alike. The Management through the LMC meetings gets to interact with the
Principal, representatives of the staff and non-teaching members. Any problems
faced in teaching-learning process or administration is addressed in these meetings.
The Management meets the entire teaching and non-teaching staff in the ‘Diwali-
Sneh-Milan’ Programme on which was both entertaining and official in nature. A
platform is created where both the management and the staff are free to express
their views regarding important matters. The Management also meets the staff
during special Havans, Ved-Saptah and Shiv-Ratri Programmes.

A COP on E-Com. has been conducted by the college in which 39 students
were benefitted from a course on HTML.
A Certificate course in Fashion Designing with 20 B.A.- I students.
A Diploma course in Fashion Designing from with 20 B.A.II students.
An Advanced Diploma Course in Fashion Designing for 03 B.A. III
students.
A Certificate course in Functional Hindi with 21 B.A. I students.
A Diploma course in Functional Hindi with 22 B.A. II students.
An Advanced Diploma Course in Functional Hindi for 10 B.A. III students.

3. Innovations in curricular design and transaction :

Transactional Innovations : For dissemination of knowledge through learner-
centric methods a number of Seminars, Workshops, Group Discussions. Power
point presentations and Project – based learning methods were implemented
especially in Fashion Designing and B.C.C.A Programme.
National Conferences/Seminars : Proposals on topics, which can particularly help
in the enhancement of the students subject – based knowledge, have been sent and
out of which 3 have been sanctioned.
Vocational Courses on Handicrafts, Knitting, Food Preservation, Basics of
Computer and Tally etc. are also taught through first hand experience and
experiment based techniques.
Career Oriented Programmes were also conducted on E-Com, Functional Hindi
and Fashion Designing.
Spoken English Course was also conducted so as to train them to meet global
challenges.
Resource and reference Material were dissipated with the help of audio-visual
aids like OHPs, Power Point Presentation, CDs (Subject – Specific), Slides and
Cassettes (music dept.)
Guest lectures are arranged with the help of subject experts.
The career counseling cell held programmes with the help of actual recruitment
people so as to motivate and inform the students about the latest job opportunities.
The premises having Wi-Fi Connection students and teachers regularly surf the
net to update themselves with the latest developments in the academic world.

Community Services :
The college has chain of activities to promote college neighbourhood network in
which students acquire acumen for service and training. The students participate in
activities such as NSS, Population Education, Sindhu Yuva Force, NCC, CIKF.
Since Majority of the students are from the linguistic minorities and reserved categories,
they take avid interest in such activities. Some of them are as follows.

started by Prayer and Hawan. N.S.S. Girls
surveyed Nara Basti and enlisted problems of
residents. After lunch “Savitribai Phule Jayanti”
was celebrated. This program has been taken
with the collaboration with “Muktai Samajik
Vikas Santha” MLA Dr. Milind Mane
inaugurated the program.

a) 11.07.2014 : A lecture program was organized on the occasion of World Population
Day a lecture was organized of Dr. Surabhi Pande. She guided the students with her
invaluable speeches on the present situation of population explosion & guided how
Woman’s should be strong & have that guts to face any problem in each & every
situation and also guided the students through direct conversation on birth control
measures, scarcity of resources in the coming future. Dr. Vandana Khushalani
presided over the function.
b) 25.07.2014 :- A lecture program was organized on the occasion of World Brain
Day. Nagpur City’s famous personality Dr. Chandrashekhar Meshram, Dr. Sunil
Gupta, focuses there lecture on the functions of brain.

c) 15.08.2014 :- On the occasion of Independence Day the students did the discipline
duty and staff has organized a grand cultural program like dance, drama & music.
Students decorated the hall with a huge rangoli showing integrity of the Nation.
d) 10-17.08.14 :- On the occasion of Gokulashtami “Ved Prachar Saptah” was
observed with a grand program where Acharaya Surendrapal Arya spoke on the
morality & ethics to infuse value system in the students.
e) 31.08.2014 :- Participated in “Jal Dindi Rally” organized by Sakal.
f) 04.10.2014 :- On the Occasion of World Literacy Day a lecture and Medical check-
up camp was arranged. Dr. Bharti Gidwani elaborated on the types human skin
diseases & Dr. Shreyasi conducted the Dental check-up of students.
g) 12-15.09.2014 :- Unit of NSS has participated to give Justice for Yug Chandak and
Yash Kataria’s Murder. Students participated with enthusiasm in Justice for Yug-
Signature Campaign.
h) 24.09.2014 :- Dr. Vandana Khushalani guided students on NSS Founders Day.
i) 25th & 26.09.2014 :- 25 NSS girls have participated in a training program at
Gurunanak Bhavan as volunteers for Convocation program at University Ground.
j) 02.10.2014 :- On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti 100 NSS students clean the
college premises on the same time Dr. Vandana Khushalani and Mrs. Deepa
Lalwani member of college management were present and also guided the students.
k) 09.10.2014 :- On behalf of “Swacha Bharat Abhiyan” NSS students cleans the
Jaripatka area in collaboration with Lions club of Nagpur.
l) 14.11.2014 :- On behalf of “World Diabetes Day” NSS students participated in
“Hello Diabetes Jagarukata Rally”.
m) 19 to 25.11.2014 :- On behalf of Communal Harmony week students and lectures
have collected donations for the children rendered destitute in violence.
n) 26.11.2014 :- On the occasion of “Samvidhan Diwas” students have participated in
rally and later attended the program at University ground.
o) 8 to 10.12.2014 :- Three days short camp has been organized by the Unit.
Hemoglobin & Thalassemia test has been conducted for the Nara Basti Slum
Peoples by Dr. Vinky Rughwani.
p) 13.12.2014 :- Organised Blood donation and blood group test Camp with the help
of life line blood bank. Principal Dr. Vandana Khushalani and Shri Ghanshamdas
Kukreja Vice-President of Arya Vidya Sabha and Mrs. Deepa Lalwani member of
Arya Vidya Sabha felicitate all the donars and gave vote of thanks.
q) 03 to 09.01.2015 :- A week long camp was held at Nara Basti. All the NSS students
participated in the program with full enthusiasm. The camp witnessed health check-

many social issues like cleanliness, environment & also visit orphanage.

Book Bank Facility is availability in the library for economically backward
students this year 35 students were benefited by this facility. Details are as follow.
Library Orientation :
To motivate the students and staff to avail library facility more an orientation
classes were conducted for the fresher to provide them information about library.
In the orientation classes Librarian were introduced about the functioning of the
Library, rules and regulation of the library, working hours, circulation section, reference
section, reading room, Book bank facility, internet, reprography, deposite scheme, news
paper, Periodicals, extra reading room facility during exam period, about RTM Nagpur
University old question papers, new syllabus etc. Under circulation service all the details
of borrowing and returning procedure was explained.

Reprography Facility :
Reprography facility is provided by the library on the basis of no profit no lass.

On demand reference service provided to the principal, staff and students, ex
student, management, outsiders for different events such as conference, MRP, debate, quiz,
elocution, essay competition environment project, book review competition for article
writing etc.
Book Exhibition :
This year three book exhibitions were organized. First exhibition was organized for
three days from 12/08/2014 to 14/08/2014 on the occasion of birth anniversary of Dr. S.R.
Rangnathan. Students and staff were benefited. Second exhibition was organized on
05/01/2013 for Commerce and BCCA students and staff in this exhibition books of
commerce, computers, NET/SLET and old question papers of RTM Nagpur University

were displayed. Third exhibition was organized on 11/2/15 it was for display of new
arrivals of books on different subject.
Book Deposite Scheme :
Book Deposit Scheme has been start from 01/03/2015 for BA, BCom I students
and for BA, B.Com, BCCA – I , MA – I, II will be start from 10/4/2015. Total no. 23 till
todays date 31/03/2014 student used this facility.
A Book Review Competition :
Library Department was organized Pustak Smiksha – A book review competition
cum exhibition competition on 12/1/15 following students won the prizes –

Two term end exams are conducted by the Exam Department of Dayanand Arya
Kanya Mahavidyalaya, to evaluate the subjective performance of students. In the I Term
exam 50% of the syllabus is evaluated but in the II term 100% of the syllabus is covered.
Both the term end exam question papers are set in the university pattern. The exam
department calls for question papers from all faculties and they are later on printed and
preserved with full confidentiality. The Exam Time-Table is displayed well in advance so
that the students can prepare for their exams systematically. The exam roll numbers and
seating arrangement is also displayed on due time. The propose of the exams is to give
students a complete practice before their university exams.

The first term exams of 50 marks based on half the syllabus was conducted from
10th October 2014 to 20th October 2014. The exams were conducted smoothly as per the
time table attached. According to the instructions of the exam department, the faculty
members submitted the results after the Diwali vacation and distributed the answer sheets
to the respective students and discussed their mistakes with them. Full fledged guidance
was given to the students regarding the improvement of their results. Later on a parent
teacher meeting was also conducted in the month of December.

The Second Term Exam of 100 marks is based on the entire annual syllabus of the
university. This was conducted from 18th February 2015 to 14th March 2015. The exam
question papers were strictly according to the university pattern and of three hours

PICNIC REPORT 2014 – 2015
A one day college picnic was successfully organized on 31st January 2015 at
Highland Park 150 students from various classes were taken. Management
members, Principal and Staff members had also joined students enjoyed the picnic.
The trip was organized under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. Vandana
Khushalani. The incharges, Dr. Vandana Dixit and Mrs. Sujata Sakhare worked
hard to make the trip a success.
Inter Collegiate Quiz Competition at
Dayanand Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya
Late Shri Arjundas Kukreja Memorial Inter Collegiate Quiz Competition on
“Womens’ Law and Awareness” was held in the august presence of Smt. Ratna Kukreja,
the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Guest of Honour, Advocate Jayshree Dewani
elaborated on the fact that women of educated families do not protest against the injustice
meted out to them. Special guests present on the occasion were Shri Ved Prakash Arya,
Smt. Nirmala Kukreja and Smt. Kanchan Keshwani. Principal Dr. Vandana Khushalani
addressed the gathering saying that Women should be aware of the laws made for their
protection and safe guard. Smt. Shanil Das introduced the guests. The programme was
organized and conducted by Ms Geeta Galani and Dr. Uma Tripathi. University
Representative of the college Km. Kiran Mahato read the rules of the competition. The first

prize was bagged by Ku. Kavita Waghe and Ku. Poonam Shahu of Dayanand College. The
second prize went to Kr. Medhavi Arya and Kr. Sahil Devani of G.H. Raisoni Law
College and the third prize to Kr. Rajat Shende and Kr. Narendra Narnaware of Renuka
College. Consolation prize was given to Shri Niketan Arts & Commerce College. The
entire teaching and non-teaching staff contributed to the success of both the programmes.
Inter Collegiate Debate Competition at
Dayanand Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya
Dayanand Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya organized Late Smt Padmadevi
Khubchandani Memorial Inter Collegiate Debate Competition on the topic “Skill Oriented
education in the only solution to unemployment” Chief Guest on the occasion was Smt.
Nirmala Khubchandani. Guest of Honour, Jt. Secretary of Arya Vidya Sabha, Shri Ved
Prakash Arya addressed the gathering stating that Youth have the capability to change the
nation and it is important to create self-employment opportunities so that they can provide
job facilities to others as well. Special guests on the occasion were Vice President of Arya
Vidya Sabha, Shri Ghanshyamdas Kukreja, Members of Arya Vidya Sabha, Smt Deepa
Lalwani and Smt Kanchan Keshwani and Shri Mangesh Indapawar and Shri Nikhil
Deshmukh from Maharastra Times. Principal Dr. Vandana Khushalani felicitated the
guests and proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Tanuja Rajput and Dr. Vandana Dixit
organized and conducted the programme. The first prize and shield went to Ms Nida Patel
and Ms Raina Anjum. Second prize was bagged by Shri Amit Vats, student of Ishwar
Deshmukh college and third prize to Priyanka Salvi of Vasantrao Naik Government
College. The three judges were Dr. Rajesh Pashine, Dr. Sonu Jeshwani and Smt. Ritu
Kukreja.
