Day 01, Mandalay – Mindat
After breakfast at your hotel then start your long journey to Chin Hill trip. You have to travel by 4 wheel
drive and it will take approx 7 hours to reach, enjoy the scenery as you sit back on the way to Mindat, a
little town sitting at nearly 5,000 feet elevation. You will see the heart of the central dry zone and
several toddy plantations. Once in Mindat, you’ll spend the night in a welcoming local guest house.
Day 02, Mindat Excursion
Mindat (walking around )
Mindat is a small town on top of pine wood mountain and the weather can be very chilly especially early
in the morning and late in the evenings. Our hotel locates outside Mindat in the valley. This morning we
walk or drive from the hotel to visit the busy market streets with some local activities.We will have
breakfast in the market to try the tastes of local food. There is a shop where pax can buy Chin traditional
hand woven cloths. Perhaps coffee and doughnuts in a local spot along our visit.From the Buddhist
monastery on the hill, we see the beautiful views around Mindat. Total walking hours around Mindat
town from the hotel (approx. 4hr) and visit weaving cottage industries and traditional houses and ways
of life include the small local museum.Lunch at local house You can visit to Learn about the daily lives of
the Mon Chin, Dai Chin and Magan Chin tribe people during your time in Mindat. The women have
intricately-tattooed faces and the people still don their colorful, traditional dress. Return to Mindat and
retire to your guesthouse.
Day 03, Mindat – Lupet - Kyardo – Aye Village
After breakfast, drive to Chi Chaung Small River for an hour then start trek towards Lupet village and
Kyar Do village about one hour to Mun chin village. You can study ways of life of the Mun chin tribe &
their tattoo style, taking picture to the sacrifice post & their cemetery with circle stone slab. You have
picnic lunch at the village. After visiting trek slope up to Ma ChiYaw chin village for about one hour to
the place where your car will wait and then drive to Aye Village. Stay overnight at normal local guest
House.
Day 04, 02/Dec. Aye village – Kanpetlet
After breakfast at your guest house, Stroll around Aye village and chat with local people then continue
your journey to Kanpetlet. You will enjoy the Pine forest and the beauty of Rhododendron forest. Study
for different kinds of Orchid. Stay overnight at Pine wood villa.
Day 05, Kanpetlet – Mt.Victoria – Kanpetlet
After breakfast, take jeep to 10.5 miles post for 1 hr & to start trek about 1:30 hours to Mt. Victoria
summit. The beauty of Rhododendron forest and the sound of silence will drive away your exhaustion
there you are on the summit of Mt. Victoria (3050m). It is originally known as Nat Ma Taung after
named Mt.Victoria, the memorial present to England Queen Victoria in the British time. In local
language, it is called Khaw Nou Toung (The Great Mountain or The Mountain of Spirit or The Mother of
Mountain). Return to your hotel and break for your lunch then the rest of the afternoon make an
environmental excursion in Kanpetlet. Chin typical dinner at pine-wood villa. Stay overnight at pine
wood villa.
Day 06, Kanpetlet Excursion
Visit to local house and study for how they made their different kind of tattoo face, (Chin Tribe) The Chin
inhabits the mountainous region that borders on India and Bangladesh to the west. Chin is one of the
original migrate from Tibeto-Burman. In the past, the chin is one of the original high land dwellers. Men
wore Loin cloths in the wormer months and draped blankets over themselves when the weather turned
cool. The women wore poncho like garments woven with intricate geometric patterns. The most extra
ordinary chin fashion of old was the custom of tattooing the women’s faces. Chin facial tattoos cover the
whole face starting at just above the bridge of the nose and radiating out in a pattern of dark lines that
resemble a spider’s web. Even the eyelids were tattooed. The tattooing was traditionally done to girls
once they reached the age of 12 or 13. You can study and taking for photo to five different kinds of
women tattoo faces at Mindat and Kanpetlet area.
Day 07, Kanpetlet – Saw – Kazun ma – Chauk - Bagan
In the early morning after your breakfast at hotel, Start for your long journey to Bagan for
approximately 7 hour drive which is located in the east of Chin Hill about 160 Km far away. After one
hour drive you will proceed to Saw small town and stop for stress the leg and stroll around local market
and enjoy the local atmosphere. All around the way you will enjoy for different the scenery. We will pass
several nature creeks and streams on the way. Enjoy for beautiful landscape, rice fields and Thanatkha
(natural cosmetic) plant plantation. Stop for lunch at local restaurant in Kazun ma small town. Continue
to Bagan and stay overnight at hotel.
