A Standardized Approach to Standardized Tests!

GMAT • LSAT • GRE
Congratulations on your choice to pursue an MBA education! An MBA degree from a top school could
mean a quantum leap in your career and could add tens of thousands of dollars a year to your salary.
At this time you are likely preparing your application to business schools. As you may know by now,
admission committees look at your work experience, undergraduate GPA, personal essays, letters of
reference, and several other criteria when deciding whether to accept you to an MBA program. Competition
for spots in top business schools is very tough. And the #1 factor most schools look at when making
admission decisions is your GMAT score.
The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is unlike any other test you have written before. Using
a standardized, yet unconventional question format, the GMAT purports to test students on three basic
skill sets: math, verbal, and analytical writing – skills that students have developed over a long period
of time. When you take a closer look though, you will find that what the GMAT really tests is something
different. The GMAT is not simply a knowledge based exam. GMAT questions are intentionally written to
try to confuse and trick you. To answer questions correctly in the time allotted, you need to be able to
sort through the information provided, apply the pertinent knowledge, and select the right answer. The
GMAT exam puts a premium on critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills. It requires students to
approach problems strategically, manage time under pressure, pay attention to detail, make decisions
with incomplete information, synthesize knowledge from several different fields of study, identify
recurring patterns in the questions and answers, and solve seemingly straight-forward problem types in
counter-intuitive ways. Simply put, the GMAT requires you to demonstrate the same skills which will help
you succeed in the fast-paced and high-pressure environment of an MBA education, as well as in your
future career. This is one of the reasons why schools take your GMAT score seriously. And so should you!
Fortunately, the skills tested on the GMAT exam can be learned and we at Quantum Test Prep have the
most comprehensive GMAT programs available to help you succeed. Our 60-hour (2-weekend), 90-hour
(3-weekend) and 120-hour (3-weekend + tutoring) GMAT courses will help you not only gain acceptance
into the top MBA programs in the world, but will also teach you skills to help you be more successful in
your MBA program. We at Quantum Test Prep follow an extremely systematic and structured approach
to preparing for the GMAT. We focus on taking the complex problem (the GMAT), breaking it down into
manageable chunks, and dealing with these chunks one at a time - essentially we “Quantize” the GMAT!
Quantum Test Prep is the right choice for your GMAT preparation. We offer more teaching hours than
any other test prep company in Canada. Our instructors are some of the most experienced and well
recognized in the industry. We have successfully taught thousands of students across Canada over the

GMAT Exam Format & Scoring
The GMAT is a 4-hour long
computer-based exam offered
worldwide throughout the year.
The exam follows a Computer
Adaptive Test (CAT) format. This
means that the difficulty level
of the questions adapts to your
performance as you progress
throughout the test.
You will get an unofficial GMAT
score report with Verbal,
Quantitative, and Total scores
immediately after you complete
the test.
Official GMAT Score Reports,
including your AWA (Essay) score,
are normally available within 20 days
of your test date.
The Graduate Management
Admissions Test (GMAT) is a
standardized admissions test
used by graduate business
schools to help them assess the
qualifications of applicants for
advanced study in business and
management.
Your GMAT score is based on
several factors, including the
number of questions you answer
correctly, the difficulty level of
each question you answer, and the
number of questions you complete.
The GMAT may be the most
important exam you will ever write.
Most MBA admission committees
look at your GMAT score as the
single most important component
of your MBA application. It allows
the business schools to compare
you with other applicants in a
standardized way. It is used as
a predictor of your academic
performance in the first year of the
MBA program.
A good GMAT score can help you
get into the MBA program of your
choice. Unfortunately, a below
average GMAT score, no matter how
good the rest of your application is,
is something most schools will not
be willing to overlook.
What GMAT Score do I Need?
Entry to the top business schools
is very competitive. In 2010, the
top 25 business schools accepted,
on average, only 22% of their MBA
program applicants (USNews, Best
Business Schools Rankings, 2010).
In 2010, the average GMAT score of
the top 20 Canadian MBA schools
was 630 (75th percentile)(1).
Last year, 100% of the top 20
Canadian MBA programs had an
average GMAT score of 600 or
higher(1).
Every 10-point increase in your
GMAT score translates into, on
average, a $3,500 increase in your
post-MBA starting salary (QS Global 200
Top Business Schools 2010/11)

The GMAT is unlike any other exam
you’ve encountered before. It is almost
4 hours long. It is written under severe
time constraints. Questions become
progressively more difficult as you
answer them correctly. The Computer
Adaptive Test (CAT) format is unfamiliar
to most students. You’re scored relative
to hundreds of thousands of other
competing students.
The GMAT provides you with a set
of unique challenges that make it a
surprisingly difficult and unexpectedly
gruelling exam. This is why we
recommend you take the GMAT
seriously. Thousands of other MBA
applicants do. A good score on the
GMAT can help you get into the school
of your choice. It can change your
future. It can change your career. It can
change your life.
Why Prepare for the gMAT?
Why Prepare for the GMAT with Quantum Test Prep?
Although some students choose to
self-study for the exam, most students
agree that a GMAT preparation course
allows them to study more efficiently,
compress months of preparation
into weeks, and greatly improve their
chances of getting the highest GMAT
score they possibly can.
More than 50% of all GMAT test-takers
now take a formalized program of study
to prepare for the exam. However, on
average, less than 25% of applicants are
accepted to MBA programs. Fewer still
get into their program of choice.
A degree from a top-tier MBA program
can mean an income difference of
hundreds of thousands of dollars over
the course of your career. Don’t be left
behind. A Quantum GMAT course will
help you get a higher GMAT score –
guaranteed(2).
PRACTICEQuantum students have access to
hundreds of practice GMAT questions,
weekly private GMAT study groups,
and simulated GMAT practice exams
to prepare you for the real test day

The Quantum Test Prep
Methodology
Quantum Test Prep’s teaching philosophy is different from that of any other test preparation
company. We recognize that, at it’s heart, the GMAT is a standardized test. It asks standardized
questions based on standardized content in a standardized format. It is our belief that the best way
to prepare for such an exam is to use a standardized approach in solving these standardized questions.
For this reason, our GMAT courses are designed to provide you a complete set of standardized
techniques that will allow you to solve all of the main question types on all sections of the exam.
To do this, we have developed our own proven GMAT problem-solving methods to find the quickest,
easiest, and most accurate way of answering each question type on the exam. We supplement these
teaching methods with our own customized GMAT course manuals. Quantum GMAT course manuals are
organized, structured, categorized, and comprehensive. And most importantly, they contain hundreds of
practice questions!
Quantum Test Prep modularizes or ‘quantizes’ the GMAT course. We let you take either the whole
course, or just the individual modules you need. The
complete Quantum GMAT curriculum consists of 5
separate course modules:
