• Connect the Grid is an online portal that will replace existing paper
application and provide an enhance processing experience.
• Exelon has partnered with West Monroe Partners to implement
Connect the Grid (CTG) across all Utilities
• Exelon has selected a best in class partner to ensure an optimal
customer experience for all customers / developers that are seeking to
add renewable energy to the Exelon Grid
• PHI (PEPCO, Delmarva, ACE) utilities has rolled out CTG through the
end of 2019 into 2020 for NEM applications

Connect The Grid Timeline
Below is the timeline of key activities for accepting CREF/CSEGS Community Solar Applications through CTG.
❖ April 3rd & April 6th – External Stakeholder’s Training sessions
❖ April 10th – All 2020 CREF/CSEGS Community Solar applications
received will be entered in CTG.
❖ Applications that are entered by GPC will appear under the email address
associated with the application.
❖ April 13th – PHI will begin accepting CREF/Community Solar
applications through CTG.
Connect the Grid (CTG)
Net Energy Metering
• Customer already has an established account number.
• No required documents necessary to proceed
with the application.
CREF/CSEGS Community Solar
• New applications will not have an account number. To
process the app, use the generic account number
40000000000 (4 and 10 zeroes)
• When asked, “Is this new construction”, select NO to
proceed with application. (Enhancements to the
system are still in production. Selecting NO will ensure
your application moves forward)
• Pepco MD, Pepco DC, and DPL MD requires specific
CREF/CSEGS Applications or Addendums to be
signed by the Developer to proceed with the
community solar application. These documents can be
located on the My GPC page listed below.
• PHI will begin accepting CREF/CSEGS Community Solar applications through
CTG on April 13th. Entering the applications will be similar to NEM process,
however, there are a few differences.
• Users must be in Chrome for the tool to work correctly.

How to Register as a Developer• CTG Provides self-service account registration for Developers
to eliminate internal user involvement in external account
registration.

Getting Started Log in Screen
Instructions1. Navigate to the CTG Login Page.
2. Select “No Account Yet? Register Here.” button underneath the submit
button.
3. Complete the required fields and select “submit”.
4. New user will receive an email asking for email confirmation.
5. Once the email has been confirmed, users will be able to successfully
submit applications and receive notifications.

• On the Applications page, click New to Start creating an
application.
Getting An Application Started (Cont)
• A new screen will open to fill out all needed application information. All fields are required.
• In the Project Name field, CREF or CSEGS must be entered. This allows your application to be filtered to the right GPC Team Member.
• For Account Number field, use the generic account number, 40000000000 (4 and ten 0’s)
• Select Intent of Generation and choose Community Energy (Solar) Facility.
• All CREF/CSEGS Community Solar applications will be Level 2 and up.
• Once all information is added to the application click Submit and your application will be sent to a draft status for additional information.
Editing Application
• More information is required after creating
a new application, CTG will bring the user
to the Editing Application page where
their application is in a Draft status.
• Additional fields are required to be filled
out before an application can be
processed. If unsure of required fields
scroll down to the bottom of the form and
click submit. Red boxes with required field
will appear showing the missing fields that
need to be entered.

• Then click Submit Application

• Once you click Submit, CTG will change the status of the application
from Draft to Submitted
• At this point, the application moves to the GPC team for In Technical
Review.

• If developer/contractor email information changed during the interconnection
process, new contact information can be added

Approval To Install
Once Approval to Install has been granted, an email is sent. You will now be able to
upload part 2 of the Interconnection Agreement.
You will also receive notification with your Approval to Install to log on to the
Community Solar Portal (CSP) and begin the subscription management process.

• Once Part 2 of the Interconnection Agreement has been reviewed and applied, PHI will issue the meter request.
• PHI completes the Approval To Operate within the timeframe based on your jurisdiction.
• Status will change to “In service“ and an E-mail with the Counter-Signed Documents will be sent out
