“Provide superior seed solutions by harnessing technology and innovation to create value for all stakeholders in a sustainable
manner”
• It is a method of seeding dry rice seeds in soil prepared in dry condition.
• Source of water is rainfall or irrigation.
Climate Smart Agriculture Technology
Transplanting
• Transplant when seedlings have 3-5 tillers, approximately 21 days. Transplant one seedling per hill, DO NOT split the seedlings.
• Before and after transplanting, spray the field with Niclosamide if necessary to control golden snail .
• Average of 2,500 liters is required to produce one kilo of “palay”
• 4 million to 15 million liters of water is used per hectare• Around 50% of water requirement is used during land
preparation• With dryseeding hybrid rice, as much as 50% of water
are conserved.
Climate Smart Agriculture Technology
Climate Smart Agriculture Technology
Applied with herbicide two times:1st after the first flooding
2nd after 15 days
Climate Smart Agriculture Technology
• Savings of at least 50% water consumption• Reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GhG) emissions• Optimum use of Rainfall in irrigation• Uniform planting schedule
– Reduce pests and diseases– Easier irrigation scheduling (NIA, SWIP etc)
• Rice stubbles and weeds are turned into organic fertilizer
BENEFITS OF RICE DRYSEEDING
Climate Smart Agriculture Technology
BENEFITS OF RICE DRYSEEDING• Rice plants are more sturdy as the roots are
undisturbed unlike in transplanted rice• Quicker and easier land preparation• Labor cost is reduced by 40%• Better yield than transplanting method• Most importantly: FARMERS will HARVEST
