Activity 1
Choose 5 words from the list and write each in a compound sentence.
A compound sentence is composed of 2 sentences joined together by a comma and a conjunction. The conjunctions are
and, but, so, or, for, nor, yet.
For example, The computer crashed, so I lost all my work.
Activity 2
Put your spelling words into the categories of verb, noun, and adjective. If any of your words don’t fit in one of these
categories find out which category they would. (Clue: A dictionary can help you.)
Activity 3
Choose 6 words and break each one into syllables.
Activity 4
Write a short one half page story using all your spelling words.
Activity 5
Choose 5 words from the list and look up their meaning in the dictionary. Choose 2 meanings for each.
Activity 6
Find the base words for the words in the list. Write out the words and the base words.

Watch your favourite TV show. Do an exercise
during each ad break. eg push ups, squats, lunges,
sit ups
Do a bear crawl around your house from room to room. Can you make it to every room in your
house without stopping?
Help your family cook a healthy meal together.
When you are done, clean up the dishes.
Superman Challenge Lay on your stomach and lift legs and arms off the
ground for 1 minutes. Repeat 3 times.
Family Challenge Who can do the most push
ups in your family?
Go for a 10 minute walk with your family around the block or around the
yard.
Play hide and go seek with your family and
friends.
Scavenger Hunt Make a list of 10 items in your house and see who
can gather them first.
Family Challenge Dance to your favourite song. See who has the
best dance moves!
Teach your parents/carers how to play a game of
handball.
Family Challenge Who can hold a plank the
longest?
Run in place for 30 seconds in every room of
your house.
Free Space
Find a stick, lay it on the ground and jump over it
30 times.
Make up your own fitness challenge then challenge your
family members.
Draw a maze on the driveway with chalk or water – challenge your
family to make it through.
Make an obstacle course using household items
through the house or in the yard.
No TV Go the entire night
without watching any television and play spotlight instead.
Do a crab walk around your house from room to room. Can you make it to every room in your
house without stopping?
Stair Challenge Find a set of stairs and go up and down as many times as
you can.
Play follow the leader on your bikes, scooters,
roller skates or skateboards.
Bicycle Challenge Lay on your back and pedal the bicycle for 1
minutes. Repeat 3 times.
Family Challenge See who can do the most
sit ups in your family.
Make up a game that involves a ball and play
with a family member or friend.
Use blankets and pillows to create a fort in your room
and then do exercise inside.
