COLOUR
WOODGRAIN
LUXURY STATIONARY
INTRODUCTION
Our goal for this assignment was to create a brand inspired by a natural object. I chose a branch for this assignment and over the course of three weeks I dev-eloped various renditions of this branch. After a few sketches, gouache studies and computer renditions I finalized on the concept of creating a stationary company called Woodgrain. My company is a luxury stationary companyinspired by a traditional Indian leaf motif used as a pattern on all the paper merchandise. The logo for the company was an abstraction of my branch. I chose to keep some details on the branch to make the logo look traditional yet modern.

I used these six colours to make a new gouache painting(top). These colours were tints of a mixture of any two colours from the photorealistic painting of the branch. The bottom branch is an illustrator version of my gouache illustration.
Applictions
Woodgrain is a luxury paper/stationary company. Therefore, for my applications I created letter paper’s, envelopes, greeting cards and tent cards.
