Fort Sumter
• (April 12, 1861) was the time brigadier General Beauregard sent the attack on fort Sumter. It lasted two days with out casualties. The significance of fort Sumter was that it was the beginning of the civil war.

2nd battle of Fort Fisher• The war started January 13-15 1865.
Blockade Runners provided supplies from the Bahamas, Bermuda, and Great Britain by trading cotton and tobacco. Fort was made of the Earth.

• April 8th Union Cavalry arrived first and burned the supplies.
• April 9thin the morning Lee’s troops attacked union troops with success.
• April 9th at 11:50 am Lee sent a message to Grant agreeing to give up and surrender.

Main weaponsOne of the main weapons they used was a
smoothbore musket. One of the main cannons used in the civil war was called the napoleon

Effects of Americans future
One way that it effected us was that if the union wouldn’t have won the civil war we would not be
the free country we are today.
Ending the civil war
The civil war ended after Lee surrendered to Grant at Appomattox
court house on April 9, 1865.
