Basic Rules FOR REGULAR AND COMMERCIAL COOKS:
Setup & RULES: Booth Setup starts at 7:00AM. Cooking Begins 7:00AM. SERVING NOON.
COOK ON SITE (can bring in partially prepped) Meat may be cooked prior to the event. Canned ingredients may be opened prior to
event. No rice or pasta. PREPARE (ONE TYPE) 3 to 5 Gallons or more of chili.
REQUIREMENTS: Bring a table(s), Chairs, TENT with tie-downs, ELECTRIC CORDS (electrical tape, if necessary) napkins, condiments
(i.e. cheese, onions, hot sauce, etc.) if you wish, and signage and decorations for your booth. Tents available to rent if needed ($15
rental). We provide cups and spoons for tastings.
JUDGING: Guests pay a $10.00 entry fee to taste and judge chili entries and the BBQ competition in the Restaurant, Organization,
Business (non-restaurant) and individual divisions. Participating guests will have a wrist band to qualify to taste and judge your chili.
Each registered guest will receive two tickets. One ticket for the restaurant division and one ticket for the organization, business and
individual division. Dropping a ticket in the jars at each booth will constitute a vote. Additional tickets can be purchased for $1 each.
No limit on purchases of tickets. JUDGING BEGINS AT 12:00 and winners announced at 3:30pm.
AWARDS: Restaurant Division – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Trophies for people choice. 1st place receives a magazine ad.
Organizational, Business (non-restaurant), & Individual Division
1st Place $300 & trophy - 2nd Place $150 & trophy – 3rd $50.00 & trophy
BBQ COMPETITION:

□ BBQ Pork Butt Competition $50 per team

Basic Rules FOR BBQ Competition:
Setup & RULES: Booth Setup starts at 7:00AM or the night before. Gator will allow overnight stays for cooking teams. Cooking Begins
by midnight Friday. SERVING tastings to the public (pork butts) at 3pm. Judging for chicken 4pm, ribs, 4:30pm, and butts at 5pm.
Pork butt competition – must be able to serve 200 to 300 2oz samples to the public. 30lbs (pre-cooked weight) of butt cooked
serves approximately 160 2 oz. samples. Minimum of 40 lbs. (pre-cooked) butts required. Sample cups provided. You must provide
your own cooking supplies.

Chicken: 1st place - $300 + trophy, 2nd place - $150, 3rd place - $50

Pork Butt: 1st place - $300 + trophy, 2nd place - $150, 3rd place - $50
Overall Grand Prize for best BBQ - $400 + trophy
People’s Choice for best pork butt - $100 + trophy
