THE GAMECaught Up The Intervention Game is a traditional chess game with adistinctive urban twist to help youth consider the impact of gangs and
theviolence they spread. It’s a tool to help young people make healthierchoices in their lives. Each young player has a conversation whileplaying the game based on potential real situations. When a playercaptures their opponent's piece, the opponent picks a card and reads ascenario. Both players then chat about how he or she would respond inthat scenario. The game teaches life. As you grow up you'll learn thatone move has endless amount of consequences. It could be rewards or itcould be a consequence that could alter your life. BENEFITS OF CAUGHT UP IN SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITYCaught Up The Intervention Game is a tool to help youth reach their goals. Caught Up has been used by youth from many walks of life and all economic and social backgrounds. They tell Caught Up Team that the game has forced them to think and act more realistically toward the seemingly innocent lures of gangs. And they have begun to think their way into stronger relationships and more promising futures. “Life is a thinking game.” Supporters, Teachers, Parents and Youth organizations and agencies are a part of our growing list of programs that have used Caught Up to teach youth.
