Popular Aptitude Questions
• The number of bacteria in a test-tube double every 3mins. If at the end of 1hr, there were ‘N’ bacteria, then at what time were there exactly ‘N/4’ bacteria?
Answer: Let time when the bacteria were exactly N/4 = x Time taken for bacteria to be N = 1hour = 60 mins
Every 3 mins the bacteria double (Given)So Time taken for N/4 to double twice to become N = x+2(3)=x+6
Now time taken for bacteria to be N = 60 mins = x+6
Hence the answer is x = 60-6 = 54mins
