Johann Strauss II

Johann Strauss II was born on October 25, 1825, in Vienna, Austria.
He was the eldest son of his father, Johann Strauss I, a famous composer and conductor.
His death date was on June 3, 1899.

The elder Strauss wanted his son to go in to business, while his mother secretly encouraged the younger Strauss in his adventure in to music.
His mother made arrangements for one of his father’s members in his orchestra to give little Johann lessons without the his Dad knowing.
When the younger Strauss was 19, he put together his own small orchestra and played in a restaurant.

He wrote his first orchestra at the age of 19. In 1840 when Johann Strauss I left his family
Johann Jr. was able to openly pursue his career.
In 1849, his father died and he formed his father’s and his orchestra together.

Johannes Brahms were good friends and they wrote some orchestras.
