Bookin’ on Bikes began as a dream of two overzealous newbies to the biking
community. We wanted to…
• Give students an opportunity to be physically active & have fun outside
• Give students a break in their daily routines• Increase student reading skills• Teach students about health & wellness• Model a healthy lifestyle • Challenge students physically & academically• Offer students opportunities to earn elective
credit• Engage our students in community events• Share our love of reading & cycling with our
students
In October 2008 The Michael Jordan Foundation supported our
dream.
MJF provided funding for:
• 16 bicycles• Helmets, seat bags, water bottles• Extra tubes, pumps, patch kits• Safety, Etiquette & Maintenance
Workshops• T-shirts • Books & magazine subscriptions

generate excitement about cycling• Incentive program set up to
encourage student participation
