Prelude
* VU 315 Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty
Call to Worship (based on Psalm 145: 1-8)
One: Come, let’s praise God together!
All: For God is great, and worthy of our praise! One: Let’s tell stories of God’s power and majesty,
All: God’s mighty acts throughout history: for God is great, and worthy of our praise! One: Let’s remember the compassion God has shown toward us;
All: God’s mercy and unfailing love, generation after generation: for God is great, and worthy of our praise! One: Let’s pass these stories along to our children and grandchildren, so that they, too, may come to know and love our God.
All: For God is great, and worthy of our praise!

One: Today we come to this same place; celebrating God’s steadfast presence in our lives, seeking God’s presence with each other. All: We are called to be the church, “To celebrate God’s presence, to live with respect in Creation, To love and serve others.” Let us worship God together.

The Life and Work of our Community
Lighting of the Christ Candle
We light this candle mindful that Christ is among us. Jesus is the Light of the World, bringing a light that shines in us and for us,
illuminating the way of abundant Life.
Gathering Prayer
Lord’s Prayer
All are invited to pray in the tradition Jesus taught his disciples (Matt.6-9-13 & Luke 11:2-4). There are different versions and languages printed in the Voices United hymn book from pages 921-926. The ecumenical version below was agreed upon by the English Language Liturgical Consultation of 1988. You are welcome to pray the version of your choosing.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen.

Statement of Faith A New Creed
We are not alone, we live in God's world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. We are called to be the Church: to celebrate God's presence, to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God.

We Go In God’s Name * VU 595 We Are Pilgrims
* Words of Sending Forth
As we travel through life’s mystery, Let us go into the world bearing a great light. Even when there is fear and doubt the Risen Christ will guide us still. His Spirit proclaims a message of reconciliation, justice and mercy. In him the love of God has taken shape, showing us the way to life. May we see this life in others and may others see this life alive in us. May the joy of Easter and the blessings of this season be with us this day and all days.
* Words of Blessing
* Choral Response VU 965
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: the Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: the Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Amen.
* Exchange of the Peace
Before we depart, we are invited to exchange “the Peace of Christ”
with the ones around us
The peace of Christ be with you.
And also with you.
