One of the biggest problem the State data centre of manipur had was scalability. We’re here to bring some light into the use case of state data centre migrations in to
AWS cloud.
The Department of IT, Manipur State Data Centre (SDC) is an entity underNational e-Governance Plan (NeGP) planned to consolidate services, applicationsand inf rastructure to provide eff icient electronic delivery of G2G, G2C andG2B services. It is act as a central repository of all data andapplications/websites for the entire Government of Manipur.

Spikes ?
Minfy lifted & shifted the 16 critical G2G,G2C and G2B applications to AWSseamlessly, paying special attention tomaximizing uptimeand ensuring businesscontinuity for all core websites of DIT. Theyreduced capital and operational costs byavoiding new hardware purchases and redeploying IT staff to projects that directlysupported the core business.
Minfy started the cloud adoption journey of Department of ITManipur with a complete study of their existing ITinf rastructure and costs,including recommendations and adetailed migration plan With a detailed plan in place,
Minfy worked with DIT,Manipur to migrate their applications toAWS , including the 16 critical G2G, G2C and G2Bapplications,For scalable compute and storage capability,
• Minfy has deployed a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) on AWSwith Amazon EC2 and Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS)
• AWS Cloud f ront leveraged for achieving reduced latency &ensuring the contents are loaded
• AWS WAF for improved security,DIT,Manipur ’s networkarchitecture on AWS also included a site-to-site Virtual PrivateNetwork (VPN)between AWS and Manipur State Data centerenabling access to AWS Cloud
• As few of the DBs still run in their on premise DC through aNAT VPC synced the respective DB to the end applicationswhich is launched in a public subnet which also housesinstances which is running 11 websites .
• Multi AZ RDS deployment had replaced MySQL DB for sixapplications with synchronous replications for enhancedavailability& durability Elastic Load balancer conf iguredbetween cross zone between two availability zones making thearchitecture highly available.
• Autoscaling enabled for the instances launched in the privatesub net which houses the application servers Using AWS Cloudwatch monitoring enabled for proactive monitoring with alarmsconf igured for CPU utilisation, Memory, Disk Space etc.
