1 INTRODUCTION
Figure1-1. Remote Monitoring System (RMS) Architecture for PowerSystem
This document describes initialization and functionality of Remote MonitoringSystem for ACU, and how to use it in user applications. The remote control andmonitor functions, which is in a Windows based PC via dial-up USB interfaceport. If the ACU is connected to a PC, it can remote control and monitoring bycommunicating remotely with PC loaded with the RMS software package. Inaddition, RMS software is with the following features.
Applied in Local Access (USB).
Complete monitoring and control to ACU & Rectifier.
Being Suitable for all ACU.
Being with User-friendly Interface.
Battery Management.

2 INSTALL AND UNINSTALL RMS SOFTWARE
This chapter describes how to install and uninstall the RMS software underWindows Operation System. Please follow the steps below to start.
2.1 System Requirements
The following minimum configuration is required to run RMS Software.
PC-compatible Pentium class system
Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP (Strong suggestion Windows XP)
Microsoft Office 2000 or above. (Strong suggestion Microsoft Office 2003)
64 MB memory (128MB recommended)
45 MB of hard disk space
2.2 Install ARMS
Follow the configuration below to install the software.
2.2.1 Copy the driver
Copy the compression file to C:\And release to C:\

2.2.2 Connection
Use USB cable (Series A plug to Series mini B plug type) to connected PC
with ACU.

2.3 Uninstall
Click on Start>Settings> Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs. Choose ARMS.
Click on Remove icon to remove ARMS Software.
Start installation process

3 GET START ARMS SOFTWARE
This section will describe how to get start the RMS software, including whatcomponents should be prepared, menu and toolbar functions.
3.1 SYSTEM Components
In addition to PC whose operation system is Windows, the followingcomponents are required:
RMS Software-installed on the PC to control and monitor Telecom PowerSystem.
USB cable, Series A plug to Series B plug, for remote connection Toconnect the PC.
3.1.1 RMS Toolbar
This is a listing of RMS menus and Toolbar. You can achieve your desiredfunction either by clicking toolbar.

Battery Estimation Capacity display:
The Estimation Cap show in the ARMS is indicate the immediately batteryremaining capacity. The ACU is able to count the battery capacity automatically
through battery charge/discharge *t to counting the battery immediately
capacity.

5.5 Others
5.5.1 System Information
System information is display on the top left side of the screen for monitoringthe status of the system.
5.5.2 Manual Charge Button
Manual charge button is located on the left side of the screen (beneath thesystem information). Click the button; the system will start to charge to thebattery.
5.5.3 Battery Test Button
Battery test button is located on the left side of the screen (beneath the manualcharge button). Click the button; the system will start the battery capacity testfunction.
5.5.4 Alarm/Event List
Alarm/Event list area is located on the left side of the screen (beneath the
battery test button). It can list current Alarms/Events.
Technician can through the RMS (user software) to clear the currentAlarm/Event. But the controller will issue the Alarm/Event if the system still hadfailure condition after through the RMS to clear them.
5.5.5 Connection Port
The connection port area is located on the left bottom side of the screen. It canselect to PC connecting port from COM0 to COM99.
5.5.6 How to change the parameter settingUse the following procedure to change any parameter settings:

For example: Change the Floating voltage
1. Move the cursor to mark the Floating voltage value:
2. Key in the new Floating voltage value, for example 54.0
3. Press Enter, to save the new Floating voltage value to controller
