Greek business presence in the 2nd International Economic Forum in Yalta

In the presence of entrepreneurs from around the world including the Greeks heldin the city of Yalta in Crimea 2nd International Economic Forum entitled «GrowthEconomy in the face of new challenges».

As part of the Forum held a roundtable debate on “Russia - Greece - EurasianEconomic Union: Prospects for cooperation”. Participants inter alia discussedissues about the potential Greek-Russian cooperation in various areas such asthe expansion of bilateral trade, to implement joint projects and to increase thetourist flow. Particular reference was made by the Russian side of the participantsto the possibilities opened up for investment and joint business in Crimea after theDecision designating the region as a free economic zone. Crimea Georgy Muradov who participated in the discussion made specificreference to cooperation prospects for business synergies between the twocountries.

During installation, Mr. Apostolos Gogakos representing Greek businesses,reported on the opportunities created by the realisation of the Forum for thefurther strengthening of economic relations between the two countries. Moreover,he stressed that both geopolitical conditions prevailing at the time and otherfactors such as the fall in the price of the ruble create additional prospects forcooperation in trade and investment levels between the two sides. Particularreference is made to the cooperation opportunities in the agri sector, constructionand tourism. Noting that Mr. Gogakos in the Forum room and had a meeting withPrime Minister of Crimea, Mr. Sergey Aksyonov.
